It’s like going to a parking garage full of strangers, and just announcing “Hey if anyone needs an explanation on how their car works, just let me know and I can explain it for you”

Sure thing.

Explain why an offense would run orbit motion?

I’m guessing here.

Would it move a defender?
Allow a reverse or play action?

One reason I don’t particularly like orbit motion is the pass plays need time to develop so IF you are not great upfront, it’s a challenge to block them that long.

War Eagle!

As far as oaky calling, like any other fan, if the play works- it was a good call!

Yes especially if you run off of the motion.

Yes to play action.

That is the reason for the orbit motion it allows one side of the offensive line to know that the pass rush will come from outside leverage because they have to protect the edge in case the ball is handed off to orbit guy. Allowing for your OL to know where the rush is coming from helping the OL in pass pro

With a great offensive line, most anything works better.

I’m just a casual observer. Sometimes long developing plays get blown up by really great defensive front guys.

It will be interesting to see how we are at run and pass blocking.

The RPO game will be featured as sort of base plays with passes available IF QB and receiver make same read.

Not to live in the past, but Orbit motion can get monotonous is some play callers hands and tip the defense.

Star freshman defensive lineman Keldric Faulk has been garnering a lot of earned attention in his brief time so far on the Plains. He has produced some stellar performances in both the spring and fall camps and is quickly rising to be one of the common names the Auburn fan base will hear come game days.

His meteoric rise has not gone unnoticed by the media and awards committees alike, as he has just been placed on the Watch List to be named the fifth recipient of the Shaun Alexander Freshman Player of the Year Award.

It's finally game week, which means we can take a look at ESPN's FPI rankings and how they predict Auburn's season to go in Hugh Freeze's first year on the Plains.

Auburn is ranked 32nd in the ESPN FPI rankings. The rankings predict the Tiger's record to be somewhere in the 6.1-5.9 range.

Freeze's squad has a 63.1% chance to win six games this season. The FPI rankings give Auburn a 1% chance to win the SEC West, a 0.2% chance to win the SEC, a 0.4% chance to make the College Football Playoff, and a 0.1% chance to make the National Championship game.

so ESPN is giving us a chance.
