2023 annual prediction thread

It’s that time boys. Fall camp starts in what 1.5 weeks.
Thread can be schedule prediction, game prediction, ranking prediction, standings prediction, or players predictions. Have at it.
My prediction is probably a shocker for the west…

I have us right on schedule probably 7-5 or 8-4. There will be a learning curve. My biggest concern is are we gonna be a “tough” team. Physical and how well we tackle on defense. I think we are gonna be around 50/50 run/pass. Probably around 35 each per game over the course of the season. Injuries to starters could swing things wildly.
Let’s keep it clean boys and WarEaGal. No one is an idiot or moron for their predictions so instead of pissing matches just post what you think. Let’s roll!!

I am thinking along the lines of 8-4. The only thing I am really sure of is that this season will be better than the last. How could it not?

Gonna add last year I made the prediction that the year would be determined straight up the middle. Meaning RB, QB, C, NT, ILB, S. Only 2
Of them I would give a C or higher grade, RB and S(when Simpson came along)
This year is just the opposite I think everything depends on the outside. Can this group of WRs make plays, game changing plays can they win ball games, I’m not sure. Can we set the edge in the run game. If we can’t do that developing a pass rush means nothing. Can our outside backers chase down plays from behind, can our cornerbacks not only grade out well in coverage but can that turn into some big game situational turnovers.

Can I ask a really stupid question? How do you figure that aTm will be 1st in the West? They sucked last year. There are some decent players in their incoming class but I don't see a path to the SEC championship this season. What am I missing?

This year seems almost impossible to predict for Auburn. I don’t even know who 60% of the team is. I’m just going to say 8-4, but who knows.
There is hope now though. Haven’t had that in a while. Starting to get 5-stars in has me excited.

That could go one of two ways. Petrino has a well-deserved reputation as a quarterback guru and could help turn things around on offense. But Petrino also has a well-deserved reputation for being conniving and shady. Making Jimbo look like shite to stage a coup and get the head coaching job for himself is something I would not put past him.

I could see that happening hence why I came back with the caveat of if we beat aTm to watch out… that goes for both teams
But in the end I think aTm figures out a way to hold it together for the year. Might be some tough behind the scenes stuff go on at Aggieland but Jimbo and Petrino need something right to go for them both so if Petrino stunk it up to get Jimbo fired he wouldn’t be offered the job. He’s to toxic. Now you keep your nose clean a year or 2 and run a good system and someone might give him another shot. So I think at least on the practice field and game days you might get the best from both those.
