I think Powell being there is a good thing for esprit de corps but I don’t think he’ll ever play a down for AU.

He might not. He’s a smart kid that’s incredibly strong. That’s a good start for playing LB.

I’m not big on writing off kids before they take a practice snap on campus. Seen too many kids that are more talented fizzle out. His odds are stacked against him but he’s got a shot

Yeah I'm not writing him off this early either. AU clearly sees something in him or else they wouldn't have offered him as early as they did or given him a committable offer.

We're not exactly throwing LB scholarship offers out there like candy right now either.

247 reports the following for the 2022 class:
DL offers = 52
LB offers = 21
DB offers = 49

KN & Jason @ 247 are killing it today.

They’ve learned Auburn is more involved with Marshall transfer offensive lineman Cain Madden than previously thought. He might come work out for Auburn coaches soon

PFF loves him. He’s probably one of the top 5 OL that’s been available this off season. Probably top 3

I think he gets it in that it’s not just trying to find kids who commit, but promoting the Auburn brand and creating a buzz even with kids who don’t commit. It’s a smart move and I am continually impressed with Harsin’s organizational skills and vision.

ETA: Meaning that with today’s recruiting environment of the transfer portal and immediate playing time, you never know when a kid you impress the first time comes back around for a second time.

Any recruiting worries I had are gone after these first 3 days of on campus visits. Hars and staff aren’t playing around.

Yeah any fears of him going after only lower rated guys in hopes of developing them should be alleviated.

I had a feeling once on campus visits opened we would get higher rates guys on campus, we will get some of them too. I like that we seem to be casting a wider net with guys from all over the country. I am starting to see his plan come together, will be interesting to keep watching

KN/247 is reporting 4* WR Darrius Clemons (Portland, OR) has arrived early for his weekend official visit to hang out an extra day.

My guess is that he knows some of these elite group of players out of Washington that are in town today

This year is obviously weird because every program is trying to get all of their top recruits on campus this month. So I’m not expecting a single weekend event. June, so far, is an everyday event. Every day is packed out with about as many kids as they can fit into their schedule. On top of the recruit visits they’ve got these individual workouts and large camps to run. It’s pretty remarkable

I imagine they’ll do big weekends again once they have the full calendar to their disposal. Might be next year

JayG on War Rapport last night said that Harsin and crew are a much more regimented, professional on campus visit as compared to Malz. Mentioning things like there were staff waiting at different areas they were visiting instead of them just going being greeted by no one while under Malzahn.

TLDR: Way more professional and organized experience for on-campus visits.
