Why couldn’t they at least try to get Dart to visit? Hell if he goes to Ole Miss with Trigg and Evans they will have a really solid offense.
My frustration isn’t with the guys they have gotten it’s the fact there’s other guys they couldn’t or wouldn’t even get to visit.

Maybe, maybe not - but that still doesn't mean this was a baseless acquisition. It's multi-level competition at the QB spot, which is important. Again, this is coming from someone who thought that Ashford sucked when his name first popped up. He looked as good as both of the other 4+ star QB's that were battling for the #2 spot in spring at Oregon. He has a lot of eligibility and it's starter-quality tools.
If TJ and Davis leave, it's three guys who at least have legitimate starting upside (ie: it's not a warm body like Grant Loy sitting at #2 on the depth chart).
OL and WR recruiting...I have no idea what they're doing there. I wish they'd build the depth that they're building at QB at those positions.

They’re striking out. It’s not like they haven’t been trying. They’ve brought several high school and portal players in for visits. They’re just not getting them. It’s frustrating, but Harsin has to get this offense going to entice guys to come.

They've brought in 1 WR and 2 OL to date. That isn't a lot, and they've been slow playing others. They did miss on all three of those, but I'm talking about numbers and urgency: they don't seem to be urgent in bringing in guys for spring which doesn't make sense to me.

Auburn receivers in 2007 were more exciting and better than this current bunch.

I don't think it's hyperbole to say our offense talent next year will be the worst it's been since The Lizard was our starting tailback.

Markeith takes that comparison as an insult...

I really, really like what Auburn has at RB and TE.
I really, really dislike what they have at OL and WR.
Push on QB. I think it’s something to build on. I’m actually high on Robby Ashford and what he can potentially do. I love the fact that he’s essentially an incoming freshman that has been practicing and learning in college. He has 4 years left.

I guess going after J T Daniels is out. He would a great addition for 1 year.

Daniels isn't going to come to AU, with the changes we already have instituted at QB.
He wouldn't be guaranteed a job, w Calzada here.
I bet he goes out west somewhere again...

I'll say this on Ashford in HS. Watching him and Bo live, and just from a talent POV, Ashford was clearly better than Bo. Bo had terrible footwork then. He had major issues staying in the pocket with zero touch. Ashford's issues were all mental. He would get a first down and beat his chest like he won the superbowl. Next play he would throw a INT and be crying on the sideline.

If you look at Bo’s body of work from a completely objective POV, he wasn’t good.

Bo isn’t even playing for Auburn. He immersed himself into a QB battle on the west coast. Ashford didn’t want any part of that and is here
Keep up.
Keep up.

Let’s try to prevent the recruiting thread from being a Bo Nix thread. I understand there’s some direct comparison now with Ashford in the fold but we’ve got a signing day in 3 weeks and that discussion can happen anytime afterward (or now) in another thread
