How am I pouting? I am stating the old staff couldn’t recruit OL or that’s what is said this staff can’t recruit OL but it’s called being picky. Bottom line is zero equals zero. Spin is what I’m calling out. If the coach is to stubborn to take some marginal talent in an attempt to upgrade the OL how is he less “stubborn” then what we have dealt with.

Y’all really struggle with tongue in check commentary. E didn’t steal your login did he?

Also lots of folks in that "Draft Room" that Auburn had setup knew about M'ba being at Auburn Tuesday, they must've signed some NDA to not disclose that he was at Auburn then.

He committed to coaches the week prior when they visited his JUCO. The cat was out of the bag by NSD. The paysites at that point had essentially said he would sign Wednesday and announce Sunday.

Wouldn’t be the first time this has been suggested

Anez Cooper, Dayne Shor, and Malik Agbo are three guys that I’m basing my opinion (or spin, as you like to call it ) on.

These are all guys that reportedly wanted to be in the class. Cooper still could be, I think. But Shor said coaches weren’t recruiting him even after making it clear he wanted to come here and Agbo essentially got ghosted after OV’ing.

So that leads me to believe that they’re not solely interested in filling positions unless they believe they’ve got a guy that’s going to be a good player. If they can have a guy but don’t want them — is that not being picky?

If it’s late at the bar and there’s only fat chicks left and you go home alone — did you strike out?

They still missed on guys. Tae Woody (wants to play DL, but I’m guessing he sticks at FSU) Sapp, Pritchett, so on. Nobody is giving them cover for those misses.

Just my opinion. It’s OK if you don’t like it. I think they missed on the guys they wanted early and decided to punt instead of take guys too far down their board. Both is true. Bad recruiting early, picky late.

The problem is your constant negativity and “attitude”. We get it; you liked Gus and resent Harsin. Hopefully you can stop bitchin about recruiting since the staff did very well and are still not done. I think they know much more than you our needs on the oline. Lets see what they are able to do with the portal. This staff is tight lipped but Harsin has a clear plan and clearly wants to win now. You don’t need to criticize everything when you are not in the know.

Don’t really have a problem with this. There are people in here constantly positive. Balances.

We did not do very well by our standards. We did decent enough. There’s circumstances that be the reason for that. Hopefully we do better next year.

They couldn’t, that why they’re not here. Why bring them up constantly? Maybe stop with the Gus cum guzzling. It’s okay, he’s gone bud

I don’t mind if people compare the old staff recruiting to the present staff. I liked Gus and defended his recruiting despite the OL debacle toward the end.

I’m just not as interested in looking at everything through the lenses of Gus vs Harsin.

People have always wanted me to be more opinionated and take harder stances on things and it’s just not my jam. I’m just an observer. I’m leaving the hot takes to the folks that do it better than me

Correct. I like Corch, Randy, and everyone else that help bring balance. I don’t particularly like being accused of spinning the truth just because I have my own opinion but that’s what the message board is for. I can defend myself

Corch and I talked about expectations back in may or June and I’ve repeated it every month or so when this comes up. I expected this class to have equal or more 4*+ to 3*s. I expected it to be top 20, possibly top 15. And I expected it to have some useful pieces for the future.

So my expectations were mostly met there. But that bar was also set low due to their relationships with kids beginning in June rather than January and because I didn’t think we were in line for a good season.

My expectations are quite a but different in 2023. This class has largely already been on campus for visits as juniors and relationships have been started and built.

We're not done, We have a higher star rating than those ahead of us, and are only down because we don't have as many, yet. I say by February we'll be in the top 10 or at the least 1 or 2 ranks higher.

And as you have said repeatedly, there still is the portal to try to grab more veteran experienced OL from. And we have had success in the past plugging in OL starters this way.

I realize the visual part of how little we have done to bring in QUality OL through recruiting continues to be a possible issue.

But as you said, OL is as I think we know is the most critical part of any offense, if you want to perform at a high level in the SEC.

If we are in the spring and we still don't have any added OL quality then it will be tough to feel comfortable with what we go forward with in the fall.

We don't know who is taking a covid year.
We don't know who we are going to get from the TF.
We don't know who we can still sign from HS in the final signee period in February.

Let's see after bowl season who will enter the portal as OL that could be on our radar.

Agree. Just need some positive forward momentum. OLIne recruiting is that way in my opinion.

We just need a couple guys to believe and commit. Others will follow.

I believe once kids start seeing what harsin is selling ( new balanced offense with actual blocking schemes and route trees) you will see better commits from the OL. Auburn needs to focus more on recruiting and relationships with these guys. I believe they have attempted to address that towards the end of the recruiting process. If he (harsin) has another bad recruiting year next year then there is a big problem. But i think he did ok this cycle with the amount of time he had and coming from out west.. Need to hit the portal and get some more key pieces.

Not true. UK is the only team ahead of us with a lower avg star ranking.

1. Tough road for us to end up top 10 unless we’re getting guys no one thinks we’re getting right now. Even if we do, it will likely not be above 10.
2. That’s not a good class by our standard. Again I said there’s reasons for that but this isn’t a good class. Hopefully we get back to usual next year.

Right so we met expectations which were already lowered.

Meaning this wouldn’t be a class you would brag about to Corch saying he can’t deal with the success of the current staff (which is what I responded to).

By our normal standard (that we have to be back to next year), it’s a bad class.

It's not over with yet, this is just like everyone saying we would have a bad class back in July being top 50. This is still way too early, but this is above average what we expected, and we still have 2 months left.
