46th in composite ranking, not last in the SEC. Never did I think we would be happy to reach these milestones

We’ll be 38th by the end of the day. Average recruit ranking will be better than many ahead of us too which is going to be more important to track because this class won’t be big enough to get us high in the rankings (like top 15).

So much of the ranking model depends on volume and it’s not going to be there for Auburn in 2022 with all the transfers

Still need more top end blue chippers to feel really good about the class but this should be a solid base heading into the season. And I can’t say it enough, this class is an “F” no matter what without some projectable OTs in it.

Everything I’ve seen says he intends to, at least initially, play both.

Has there ever been another high profile football player also play basketball?

At Auburn, someone mentioned Kendall Mack. Played OG for football and played in the NFL. Also played basketball his senior season.

His high school coach Is Charlie Ward. Won a Heisman in football, and was the starting PG for FSU, played in the NBA.

Antonio Gates, but not really in the manner you're meaning.

Oh I'm not dogging this class. The hurdles our new coaching staff has had to jump are well documented. Just feels odd to feel good about a class being so lowly ranked

Hopefully some new targets will pop up once the recruits see us play a couple games

I spent part of my childhood in Valdosta, GA, and Stan Rome was a two-sport star at VHS who signed with Clemson.

He played both sports his first year there, but switched to basketball fulltime as a sophomore. After graduating in '78, He was drafted in the 4th round by the Cavs, but got cut, played semipro ball for a year, then signed with the Chiefs when they picked him in the 11th round of the 1979 NFL draft.

Apparently he threw away his career on blow, according to this 10-year-old ESPN article about his son Jay, who ended up a TE at UGa.

shite how did I forget about him! I saw him play in the Orange Bowl and he was one of the better football players I ever saw play in person.

I’m curious to see if Tre actually plays football for us. I feel like there has been talk of him focusing more on basketball. Bruce apparently loves him as a PG.

Kendall was an outstanding athlete and a good friend. Great touch on his shot for a 6'5 300+lb dude. K-Mack passed away several years ago. Gone way too young.
