and Auburn doesn’t have a defense nearly as capable as Georgia or a DC close to Kirby Smart or whoever he hires as DC

People think Kirby is some kind of great DC. I say bull$hite. For almost two decades he has had the best players money can buy. With the players he has had simple Jack from tropic thunder would look like Vince Lombardi

This is actually senseless when comparing importance of offensive vs defense.

But why?

There is no pass in football that is 7yds unless it’s a back out of the backfield. This is a bait / click comment. He also has no clue what it takes to be a QB at D1 level. If he thinks we have QBs that can’t throw the ball 7yds accurately- wow, you have to be some kind of dumb.

1) Part of being a DC/HC is recruiting
2) How many kids has he put in the league at both Alabama and Georgia?
3) How many top 10 defenses?

Results matter.

Our defense will be fire. Alabama won a Natty in '92 without an offense. We'll be able to rush the ball and pass to our TE's.

Go look at the horrible schedule they played. It looks like Auburn’s schedule when Bowden went 11-0.

I love your optimism but our schedule is too hard to win with just defense.

Yes, we shut them down all the way up until the point when their all-world QB went unconscious and couldn't miss. Then, to conclude the game, our all-world CB got eaten-up on a perfect route and pass.

All the while, our offense couldn't do much of anything. So what exactly did you prove? That even when our defense plays flawless and over their heads for 95% of the game, an elite offense that hits their stride can and will eventually crack them?

That game is the literal proof that you need both.

Everyone says this, and they played great, but much of that was Bama playing awful on offense with many mistakes. Go back and watch how terrible they played.

Is this a counter to what I wrote? It’s all about players and he has never been at a place where he has had to recruit on a level playing field. Has there been a coordinator that hasn’t been successful at UA under Saban? Even when they failed at other places before? You go there and all of a sudden you are the it coordinator and top 5 recruiter. Coincidence? I seriously doubt it.

Well, Kirby hasn’t failed, so…

Again, Kirby is knocking it out of the park at Georgia now.

He’s not under Nick Saban anymore.

He’s successful.

Go read my posts. I didn’t blame the defense. I said an elite defense, and only an elite defense, can no longer win games by itself.

One of the practice videos shows the QBs throwing about 7 yards to a target. The inanimate object is just out of the field of view and you can't see if they are hitting it or not. So, that could be what JGT is talking about. Not sure, though.

I watched the videos... I didn't see the 11 misses he claimed but I saw a handful of short throws that were wildly off. Like the wr's didn't even attempt to make a play on them.

That double coverage int was real bad tho

Looked like triple coverage to me just both defenders behind the pay made a play to intercept it. There was a defender right underneath the receiver as well

Probably talking 7 linear yards and not 7 yards downfield
