So TJ Finley and Robby Ashford received the majority of snaps, with Zach Calzada was less than them.
Sounds like it’s Finley vs Ashford. Calzada is done for unless there’s injury or a meltdown at QB like 2015 Jeremy Johnson.

I have no recollection of this student athlete.

According to some at TAMU Calzada was way more hurt than reported. Not sure if it all was repaired but I believe Josh Pate covered this in one of his vids.
I am happy that we have a QB coach now that have played the position so even though TJ hasn't been that productive past couple of years, I believe he could have improved over the past off season...it sometimes takes some guys some time for the light to come on at the QB position. I think Robby packages should be dynamic because it causes a defense to prep for it...

I don't know why anything was not repaired unless it couldn't be. That would be unusual since the cost of the procedure would not come into play.

All of this.

So will TJ and Ashford split the Heisman votes with Tank for our 15-0 Tigers?
Posted on 8/19/22 at 9:22 pm to borotiger
So all 4 go to NYC for the ceremony?
We win both playoff games by 30?

That's like saying a student got his shite together and earned a PhD. but otherwise he's the same student he was in undergrad.
Let's get behind TJ and celebrate the fact that the guy worked his arse off to improve and correct mistakes such that he won the trust of his coaches and teammates to be the best option as QB1.
We have some insufferable motherfrickers as fans. No wonder it's easy to recruit against us.

Ok
But can i wait until he's actually named?

I understand your pro-Harsin overbearing schtick but as relating to TJ your calling out fans for not wearing O&B is a nuisance not wanted in my thread. Just read the information and root for TJ if you’re happy to root for him.

Listening to the post scrimmage pressers, I am liking our OC/DC.

Obviously everyone focuses on QB, but none of that matters if the OL sucks. We have to improve there. UGA just won a title with Stetson Bennett because they could run when needed.

Stetson Bennett is a good QB and UGA had a historically great defense. But yes, the OL is very important, and we're about to find out if bringing that cast back was a smart idea.
FearlessFreep is correct: the general impression is that TJ Finley has simply been the "best performer" out of an unimpressive group of QB's. The storyline here isn't that he's significantly better than last season, it's simply that Calzada has sucked and Ashford is a great athlete who makes a lot of mistakes throwing the football (but he has progressed).
Things aren't sounding too hot leading up into the start of this season.

I don't think we had a choice but to talk this OL group back. There isn't a deep pool of OL talent in either HS or portal. It is absolutely critical to keep the depth full at that position

We didn't have a choice after we missed on the 4-5 transfer portal OL that we were trying to recruit.
But that just puts into light the fact that they needed to get something done there, and they didn't. It's a bad look when you need to rely on calling Nick Brahms back - a guy that has had a million injuries (he's been injured virtually every offseason) and now that guy is hurt again and may not even play this season.
So now we're rolling into this season hoping that the OL is better, hoping that we have a good enough QB, and hoping that our WR's are improved. There isn't a whole lot of proven talent there, and the news surrounding the QB battle isn't very good.

I don't think you will get much arguing here on lack of recruiting with that group. The previous S&C coach was terrible. I am interested to see if a more traditional power building strategy mixed with coaching yields better results. Our RB group has a chance to be elite.

Harsin was touted as a bit of a QB guru from the beginning. If TJ hasn't improved much with a year under Harsin and he brought in two QBs that are worse, then we have bigger issues than just our offensive production.
I want to like Harsin and this hire so until proven otherwise I will cautiously believe that TJ has improved under his leadership. Hopefully this team will get to 8 wins. I think 9 wins after a losing season is like Pat Dye territory and a bit too high of an expectation.
