Auburn fans have been begging all off-season for Bruce to sign a true 3 point shooter and he never did. Very baffling.

Not really sure what this post is. Seems to imply Coach Pearl is beholden to Auburn fans begging?

Does he not like shootahs?

He does I just found the way that post was framed as funny. Bruce loves shooters but he isn't gonna sign 2's and 3's unless they compete and defend the way Bruce likes. The ones that can compete the way he wants and can also shoot the lights out are ultra rare but he's made a run at a few of them in the portal the last 2/3 years and come up empty handed.

Bruce obviously doesn’t care bout dear Ole jang either but until the day he puts some shootahs on the court my theory about Person lives on.

Jabari could shoot because he was a superstar. The rest of the players since the run haven’t nearly been as great of shooters.

Bruce is a 3 and cut kind of offensive guy. Mainly cut with kick back.

Oh and no Chuck Person for shot development

I suspect KD will be our best shooter this year, unless he injures his hand again. I believe he was close to 40% before the injury. It tanked badly after.

Also hoping Zep will finally start taking shots. I think Westry is going to allow Zep to play a good bit of 2.

Westry looks like his shot has potential. I maintain that that Wendell is a good shooter, his percentage is just bad because he has Steph Curry shot selection and he ain’t that.

And don’t forget KD was 40% pre-hand injury. And AF shot it decently his sophomore year on decent volume.

AF needs to just embrace the catch and shoot. Not every shot has to be a pull up after a drive fake or stepback.

ETA: My gosh I’m so glad basketball talk is back

Yes he had the worst habit of immediately putting the ball on the floor every single time he got it last year. KD does the same sometimes.

I think AF struggling from 3 is what killed our psyche. KD, Jabari, and Wendell started out hot. But then we kept feeding AF think we would let him shoot his way out of his slump. And then AF didn’t shoot his way out of it. Next KD goes mental and his 3 point percentage does a deep dive.

I'm completely prepared to be a little disappointed with the shooting early on this season. The guys are going to have to adjust to life without Jabari. But I do believe in the long run, they will develop into a better shooting team as a whole. Certain roles and responsibilities will change and I think that is a good thing. Just looking forward to the season starting.

The early season woes don’t bother me. And for the most part we didn’t have them last year (although past performance isn’t indicative of future performance) I just want to see us perform more clutch than last year and not flounder into the postseason.

Looks like the initial lean for Fall was Arky but they signed twin brothers out of the portal from Rhode Island that are listed as playing F/C. I was unaware that Diop (Falls teammate) was not being pursued by AU any longer. That seems to spell Diop to Arky which would lend a upper hand to AU for Fall, at least I hope. Getting a mobile big man like Fall for next season would be really nice with Cardwell hitting his Sr season next year and I believe Broome would be Jr next year.

Auburn has also offered more than 7 figures as part of an NIL deal. We get last visit.
