And by the way I was there in 2003 when we lost in the sweet 16 to Melo. Had season tickets as well and that team was ridiculously frustrating and limped through the whole regular season and just barely got in the tourney as a 10 seed. Still turned in a fun little tourney run. For the record i don’t think this team has it in them at all to do that but I’d much rather check and make sure

Really sucks...2019 seems like a million years ago. It is too late for any improvement. The tourney would be one and done. I hope we can get some shooters in asap for next year.

He should be apologizing for this team… I love him but we’ve got to do better than this.

I admire Flanagan’s hustle and gamesmanship but the dude is just too erratic to build a team around. Someone said it earlier… We are WGjr, Broome, and a bunch of mid-major role player talent. We have zero SEC talent at the 2,3,& 4 and need shooters in the backcourt something fierce.

Bruce Pearl apologizes to Rupp Arena fans for Auburn’s poor play

After Auburn’s 80-53 loss to Kentucky at Rupp Arena on Saturday…

Pearl apologizes after blowout in the Bluegrass in most lopsided loss of season
by Mark Murphy
February 25, 2023

Out-rebounded, out-shot and out-hustled, the Auburn basketball team suffered an embarrassing 86-54 SEC basketball loss at Kentucky on Saturday at Rupp Arena. It wasn’t the most lopsided loss for the Tigers of the Bruce Pearl Era, but it was close.

Only fell to 36 surprisingly

Yeah I'm shocked at that.

Ferguson:

so Auburn only fell *three* spots in the NET after losing by 32 at Kentucky — the same amount it fell after beating Ole Miss by 4 on Wednesday

the Tigers still probably need to win one of these last two games to get in the NCAA Tournament, but only dropping to No. 36 says a lot

If your blood pressure is going up over nit games you need to re evaluate

This feels an awful lot like Gus Malzahn’s 2017 contract extension mid season. I’ll start with saying Bruce has a much a better ability to recover than Gus Malzahn ever did, but it sure does feel similar the way the play on the court and program trajectory as a whole has nosedived much like Auburn football did shortly after Gus’ extension.

We’re a bubble team right now and some people are acting like the whole program is falling apart all while praising Bama at the same time. Most chicken little shits I’ve ever seen.
