The only areas we “lost” were fouls and FTs, obviously by a significant margin.
the refs stole that one for sure

This is most frustrated watching a game I’ve been since Bruce got on campus. The Virginia game sucked because of the result but tonight was just brutal.

If UT and aTm played right now in aggieland does aTm shoot 70 FTs?

I’m confident we win Saturday. Maybe even comfortably

A wise man said before the game…

quote:

I’m gonna say it. I think we win tonight “if” we play defense without fouling. That’s coach Sonny Smith’s favorite line but true for tonight’s game. Keep them off the FT line less than 15 FT attempts and we win. More than 20 FT attempts and it’ll be tough. Just something to watch for in the game

Why did Flannigan get a Tech? For celebration?

I've seen various posts by credible posters on other sites talking about the strikingly obvious free-throw differentials of us and our opponents all season long. And they are all right. I do not entertain conspiracy theories but watching Pearl year by year, you cannot tell me Pearl has received fair and consistent officiating while Pearl has been our coach. This year has been worse than normal because we do have players that sometimes don't play smart, or they play out of control (KD) or they hack (looking at Dylan Caldwell) but there are other high stakes moments where it appears the refs merely decided to screw Auburn yet again. And they have done that at will no matter the location. Neville or Knoxville. You name the location, and the refs will bring it!

bullshite. Can’t blow a kiss but can flex on people under the goal after a basket.

I totally agree Jang and have said in seasons prior as well.

However, I will say our guys KD, Wen, and Broome whine every time they shoot.

Players can and should work the refs too to a degree, but these 3 definitely come across as more whiny and less “are you sure about that last one?”

I, for one, was getting nervous about Broome once he got his fifth foul. He was already mad beforehand, and then picked up that fifth foul, so I'm glad he didn't do anything he would regret later. I didn't see the foul because I was focused on Greene, thinking he drew a foul. The announcers called it "putting his hands on the opponent's back" or some shite but it was completely ticky-tack for that moment of the game.

I actually think Broome fouled on that one. Pushed him in the back but at that point we needed that rebound.

If that game is reviewed and graded the refs have to score very low on fouls and consistency.

Anyway, we gotta get better at the end of shot clocks and end of halves for getting decent looks

Exactly. What Flanny did could be called 20 times a game. The replay showed it being even less of a taunt than I expected

Apparently that douchebag he was yelling at was making Jew jokes the whole game and they just pretended not to hear it the whole game, but after the L he was ready to let that guy have it

I think I’m out on college basketball for a while… the officiating is just so dreadful it makes games unwatchable… I know a lot of that falls on the teams/ coaching styles, but goddam it’s rough.

The thing that sucks is there’s basically zero incentive to make it better… nothing is in place to make anyone accountable.

College hoops is my first love so I’ll never be out but I agree.. the way every game can look so different stylistically purely because of how it is officiated is nuts. It is the hardest sport to officiate but there is no excuse for it to be as bad as it is right now
