That’s just stupid. As long as Bruce is here, he will bring talent. Kentucky is struggling too this year. Unc as well. Bluebloods like us even have an off year.

I don’t get why Westry hasn’t played any the past few games. Has his knee not gotten any better since the last time he played?

There is hope. We bounced back from a poor 2020 season and Holloway will bring a lot to the backcourt next year. We’re just not the perennial contender right now that we’d hoped to be.
I definitely don’t see this team finishing .500 in conference play. Just not enough juice offensively.

I’d guess the thought process on Westry is that you don’t want to play him when he’s not 100% and his confidence appeared shaky when he was playing.
Two schools of thought, if he is 100%, play him and suffer through the consequences hoping he regains confidence along the way or let him sit and learn.
Bruce is taking the latter likely because he hasn’t thrown the towel on this team yet.

Those schools have decades and decades and championships upon championships to fall back on. If we are going to bring in elite talent we have to show we are a consistent winner.
I'm not saying it's all doom and gloom and we will definitely be much better than traditional Auburn basketball but for a minute we looked poised to really cement ourselves as an elite program.

We’ve lost 2 games this season. Calm down folks. Maybe 3 after this game but we all know the struggles and certainly Bruce does

Aren’t we the winningest SEC program over the past 5 or 6 years? Safe to say Bruce either missed on his evaluation or was just too loyal for this group, but as long as we can keep putting guys in the NBA, talent will come here. Won’t be putting any in from this group, so have to hit on some in the portal after this year.

It’s crazy how bad our guards are at staying in front of guys when they’re on an island. They’re ultra aggressive and are good about jumping some passing lanes, but man have they been bad in iso situation.

The PROGRAM is fine….but anyone watching this TEAM sees that we legitimately suck right now. We cannot shoot. Like at all.

This is just not a good team. Inconsistent shooting and today our defense was not too great. Westry and Traore have not played well and are not getting minutes. The overall team makeup is lacking.

I'm with my wife and her grandparents watching the Duke NCState game. They're all huge Duke fans.

I think we all agree on that. If this team makes the tourney it’s a great season. I’ve accepted this team for what it is. A bunch of role/bench players. Bruce hinted at this at the beginning of the season when he said there were teams with a better starting 5 but not many with a better 6-11.
The fact that we have been on an apparent trend of bad shooting over the past couple years is concerning to me though. I know we’ve talked about Person leaving having an impact but I’m also curious what our offseason routine looks like. I’d bet if you compared the number of shots (specifically 3 pt shots) our guys take in the offseason compared to a team like bama where Oats has them taking thousands upon thousands.
ETA: Jabari came in last year and started “the breakfast club” where he came in every morning on his own and shot a ton. I think only WG and maybe one other guy really joined him.
