Who’s the dude from Dothan late 80 early 90 that was fire. Not sure he could stay due to grades. State of Alabama had some players

He was from Central - PC, then Oak Hill Academy. Parade-All American (there were only 10? in 1985). He got booted out of AU before his Junior year for weed and grades IIRC. He's the best basketball player I've ever seen in an AU uniform, and he barely exists on the interwebs. These are the only stats I can find on Mike Jones:

(EDIT) OK here's his JR. stats. He was booted 7 games into the season for weed and grades. He was averaging 21.9 PTS, 10.0 RBS before he left school.

Any word on Julian Phillips? He’s the 5 star power forward out of Missouri that decommitted from LSU.

Walker Kessler is the Naismith Defensive Player of the year

Stevenson canceled his visit. That could be good news in the long run.

What’s your thought process here? I’ve not followed this closely enough.

Walker was dominant for sure but could use another yr putting on weight and working on some type of offense

Yeah I think we can do better than him even though he would be an improvement

Can't believe I let yall hype me into thinking Kessler was coming back . I said all along he was the 3rd best big in this draft and borderline lottery and I still got sucked in lol

He's basically Rudy Gobert/Clint Capela right now.. if he rounds out his game he has TONS of potential.

He obviously has work to do but if a NBA team wants to draft him in the first round and let him work on it 24/7 at that level… hard to turn down.

The only similarity is shot blocking. Gobert weighs 260-265 and is really physical. Gobert is a throwback center. Kessler probably has better feet and can run the floor.

I’ve seen Kessler compared to Jakob Poeltl which makes sense to me. Similar body types and skill sets

Jakob Poeltl
That's a better comparison. He played at Utah for 2(?) seasons. Poeltl and Kessler are more of the new style of centers. Kessler is better defensively, and I remember Poeltl having a pretty smooth offensive game at Utah, so he's more polished there. Or was at Utah at the same relative age as Kessler.
