Lost 10-9 on a walk off hit. Another one run loss. This loss is squarely on the coaches... like most of them. I’m so close to being done with this team.

Playing a mid-week game and early weekend series does not help our P staff. Bull not going deep on Thur exacerbated our pitching problem. It put us in a tough spot with Saturday’s Pitching

Trust me, based on 4 or 5 weekend series so far their pitching problems goes much deeper than an early weekend series issue and who was available.

They’ve simply been mentally inconsistent and shown poor execution consistently.

I also think our lack of arm diversity is killing us. Too many pitchers with similar styles.

On a positive note, seems like the lotto vote will happen in 2022. This could help us progress in baseball. Until we have an even playing field with the other SEC states, we will always struggle in baseball.

I saw that on the lottery/casinos bill.

I know a lottery percentage goes to education for scholarships, but how does that specifically go towards sports teams and helping with the partial scholarships give?

How are schools going to allow their portion to go to sports like baseball/softball,etc..?

We’re going to have to process a few non performers and hope the lotto bill passes

TL;DR. You like a kid from AL and he pitches. You tell if if he applies to AU and gets a lotto scholarship he can tryout for the baseball team. The .2 baseball scholarship he would have taken up goes to everyone else.

I agree with this, specifically Bright and Mason. One has darker hair than the other.

I agree with your point.

Just saying... and repeating what I said prior to the season.

If we can find middle relievers and a closer we would have a shot at the tourney. If not we wouldn’t make it. Was promptly told at worst we’d be a 2 seed.

Ummm... we didn’t find or was able to keep the bullpen healthy or have anyone step of to fill those roles and the season has gone as expected.

And those currently in the bull pen need to be processed

Pretty sure that was me. I didn't expect the bullpen we have to pitch as poorly as they have.

Will say luckily we have a decent in state recruiting class committed for next year. 2 years before they get on campus but if we can hold them we will have a decent base for a good team.

Plus I think we can find some transfer or JC pitchers to help us out over the next few years but still missing the elite guys unless we develop them on our own which I think Butch is one of the best at doing. 11.7 scholarships and you need 7 really good pitchers. 2 dominate starters, 1 good developing starter, 2 good middle relievers, 1 specialist reliever, and 1 dominate closer.

I also didn't see Fitts turning into complete shite. He had top 2 round pick written all over him before the year. He ain't getting drafted this year now.

Someone will take him in the back half of the draft even if he doesn’t want to sign

It’s kinda weird we turn the lights out during the home run trot:
