This probobly doesn't surprise anyone but per autiger07 on the bunker Dilly saved us on getting Bell on NSD. It looks like our resident Asian Jonesy was right, as he usually is. Looks like Dilly is spearheading OL recruiting since taking the OC job. He Helped JB get Avery Jernigan go ahead & close the deal early for him in this class. Here's to a hopeful rest of the 2020 OL class.

I feel like this is the perfect setup for us. Our OC is a recruiter, and Gus can just game plan and call plays. He is good at that.

Since when? We are talking about the guy who invented the TwirlyBird Fullback Dive.

I actually wrote that post with you responding with that in mind.

FWIW Hunter Adams says Arky WR Grad Transfer La'Michael Pettway was a take even before Pickens flipped to UGA. My guess is the staff wants an experienced replacement for Slayton's WR position.

Think most expected this.
“Losing Darius Slayton, I’m a guy that could come in right now and with the experience I have in the SEC, I could play right away,” Pettway said.
Pettway, who is 6-feet-2, caught 30 passes for 499 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games with the Razorbacks. But last month, he announced his plans to transfer.
.......
"Darius Slayton was their guy," Pettway. "He was the 9-man. We run the same offense at Arkansas, so I know the offense already. I know what they are trying to do, the terminology and everything. It would be an easy transition if I decide to come here."

Maybe. I kinda got the feel some of our fans weren't believing it though nor saw the need in it.

I'm probably who E was mostly talking about lol. I still don't think its a given he will beat out the guys we have even without Pickens here, but more competition is always welcomed especially since we have room.

Not sure why they would. Pettway is a senior right? We would get a guy who has proven he at least belongs on the field in the SEC and we don't use up a scholarship next year since he's a senior. Its all upside having him at this point.

I understand using the transfer route to fill a hole in the roster.
I wonder if it is hurting our OL recruiting. Look at our line the last few years...transfers, grad transfers, converted DL. Would you take a scholly, a bunch of promises, and a year later you bring in someone to replace me, its only a year, and the next year, you bring in another, and no one bothers to develop me or give me a chance.
I know, I know, if they were good they should not care, blah blah blah. Talk to me a year from now when you see Gatewood transfer because he never got a chance, and a minor hand injury did not prevent him from getting a look.

Honestly, it simply boils down to the recruiters. That is some on the OL coaches, some on the area recruiters and some on Gus and the perception of his O.
Kids don't believe his O will put you in the NFL at that position like our main rivals. RG is a great recruiter IMO because he can show the list of kids in the NFL. It isn't rocket science.
I am not a fan of the transfer stuff, but bama signed Tua and Hurts after taking a transfer QB.

Apparently Schwartz pulled up on a 200m run at Clemson and didn’t finish. Probably not a serious injury.
A poster on 247 says there is an Al.com article saying Schwartz, Shivers, and possibly Iggy not going through spring practice.

Random post because I'm bored on a Sunday. Current Crystal Ball breakdown on AU targets
4* QB Robby Ashford --> 67% AU but is thought to be trending UGA
4* DL Andy Boykin --> 67 % AU but those picks came pre commit. All CBs since to UGA
4* Buck Quandarrius Robinson --> 50% AU. Former commit now trending Bama
4* WR JJ Evans --> 100% AU would be an awesome pickup
3* LB Rodney Groce --> 100% AU
That was kinda more depressing than I hoped

Smart move. Don't want to spend spring practice developing players. Why would a new cornerback need live reps?

Jernigan picked up some hardware today...
