Got a CB pick from a national recruiting insider for Kilien Zierer, JUCO 3* OT from California.

LINK /

What he had to say about it:
I had Zierer pegged to UCLA and that one looked like close to a done deal but he was wowed on his visit to Auburn and now I'm hearing the Tigers are in a good spot for him. Not sure on a timeframe for a decision but feeling was always it could happen at any time this summer.

Primary recruiter: Kenny Dillingham
Secondary recruiter: Grimes

Thats huge... I expected him to choose UCLA. We we're all disappointed with OL recruiting before this year, but you have to give credit where its due.

#1 JUCO OT belongs to AU.

He’s not exactly polished but sky’s the limit on this guy.

Zierer said this about Auburn earlier this month:

quote:

"Auburn is also a great fit," said Zierer. "Coach (Kenny) Dillingham and Coach (J.B.) Grimes have been recruiting me. I took my official visit down there in June too." Zierer raved about his time at Auburn. “At Auburn, when I was there almost everything felt good,” Zierer told 247Sports' Keith Niebuhr. “What stood out the most probably was that their tackle system fits me very well. They have athletic tackles. Huge, athletic guys. There’s not a lot of body fat on them and they still get them to the next level.”

Definitely helped us that Tega physically looks like him (height, weight, body composition) and is a top OT prospect going into his senior year.

Free article on Rivals makes me leery of Tank’s OV to Georgia for the ND game. Wants to commit some time after.
& he debunked the possibly wanting to be the lone RB in a class chatter. Sounds like he wants to play with another big time RB.

Tank is a bigger build and needs the ball 20 a game. I mean he can have Derrick Henry numbers, not Kenyan Drake numbers. But okay.

Pair this with Shivers and Schwartz racing to the edges and profit.

So is the narrative now that we are not doing a very good job of recruiting Defensive line?

I just need to know so I can keep up

I’m guessing the narrative from the usual folks will be “back up plans” as it relates to DB and DT recruitment.

The real drama comes mid/late season if our team sucks

You know our fans. There will be drama regardless of our record.

Our OL cruitin is Band Aids on bullet wounds. We are getting bodies but still aren't close to the quality needed for titles in this league.

At least they are the marvel logo band aids and not just the generic ones...

Maybe, maybe not. It's waaaaaay to early to make that assumption about this OL class.

Check this 13 second highlight video of Kielien. He packs a mean shove when he wants to:

I mean sure it's possible we find 4 diamonds in the rough and these guys all end up in the Hall of Fame, but there is a pretty strong corollary between recruiting rankings and on field performance. Though you already know that.
