There's some truth to the article, but not the full truth. Does the spread offense make it harder to project offensive linemen for a pro style system? Obviously. But what the article doesn't mention is more NFL teams are moving to college style offenses.
Also it says our system has them behind the curve when they get into the NFL.. even if that's true, Grob and Coleman have been in the league long enough to make the adjustment. They just aren't good enough period. What that actually means is our offense made those 2 offensive linemen appear better than they were(In addition to their measurables).. Every school has guys that don't work out. How many 4 and 5 * guys has Bama recruited on the O line? Show me all their stars in the league.

So, what the article is implying is that Auburn and Gus can't develop OL. They cited Shawn and Greg as examples of this. What they failed to mention is that the best coaches in the world at the NFL couldn't develop them either. If anything, it goes to show how much we have been getting out of our OL.

You can spin Greg Robinson being an NFL bust either way... I have no doubts our system made the transition harder on him... but at the same time, it probably got him drafted way higher than he deserved by showcasing his strengths (and masking his weaknesses).
Ultimately, we just wanna win football games... what these guys do in the league is cool and all, and I want them to be successful... but once they leave AU, it’s on them.

Add on to this that "we can't develop OL". Tenga may turn pro because he is getting a 2nd 3rd grade. He did not play OL till he got to Auburn.

For all that hate, Greg and Shon are starting offensive linemen in the NFL. So is Braden, so is Chad Slade. That's a terrible article.

We whiffed on all the RBs we were recruiting, again. Six weeks ago they found this guy who was not a take for UAT and UGA. I hope he does turn out to be a great find.
He was a take for UGA last week. Only changed when the #1 back told them he was coming. Same for Bama.
So let's be honest, DJ Williams is talented enough to play for any team in the country. We got a great back and should be happy, ranking be damned.

Can someone please post all the Offensive linemen we've signed over the last 5 years and their Star rating?
Let's debunk some myths....

Prince, Troxell, Sammons, Kim, Harrell, Brahms, and Ashley are all 4 and 5 star. Ham, Irvin, Sharp, and Stutts are all high 3.

It's interesting to me that article is just now making the rounds when it came out like two months ago

It doesn't take high intelligence to be a sports writer. We just need to take care of business, and everything will be fine. The only thing that has stopped AU in the past is AU. We have a high "woe is me" section of our fan base, and they can be loud. No one has more access to recources and talent in the SEC than AU, minus TAMU, UF, and UGA. We just got to capitalize. Gus' largest mistake was allowing Clemson to steal his momentum. Rant over.

Hard to get excited about a guy who needs to put on 30 pounds to compete in the SEC.

So I'm to believe that Auburn is getting the scraps?
Because we aren't the only schools recruiting these kids....they had options.
So clearly it's a development issue somewhere.

It is a clear example of fake news, sensational sports journalism, and message board chicken littles.

Sammons and Tega were not really OL before coming here.
Troxell and Ashley have injury issues as does Brahms apparently.
Don't remember Harrell being a 4 star and Kim was a pretty low one.
Our OL is a combo of poor recruiting, some bad luck, and I guess uninspiring coaching. It's not a single issue that has us in this spot.
