Calm down, y'all. He just needed one more visit to Clemson to realize AU is the right choice...

Assuming Booth picks Clemson now CB is probably the position we could most afford to Strike out on. Still tons of CBs out there..

Honestly the only thing I'm waiting on is either news on Putnam or another OT name to pop up.

At running back Id settle for someone thats in the top dozen rb recruits, a top 200 overall, bout six feet, couple hundred pounds, good hands. Oh wait, we had one....and now he is gonna be Davis backup.

Ill say this, if we bring in Devan Barrett for a play, fake that swing pass to him and throw downfield....its a sure touchdown cause its the only play we bring him in for, no one, and I mean no one would expect us to run a different play when he comes in.

And we wonder why top rbs dont want to come here.......

Totally agree with SamGinn. Those of you mocking melt need to take off your O&B glasses. Bama and UGA recruiting at an elite level. SEC has added much better coaching and recruiters. Dabo has Clemson on top every yr. Sorry but our O has struggled every yr and and fell apart the last two games of the season. Our inability to recruit the Oline and RBs is a yrly problem. This attitude that everything will be fine and we will pull it out at the end is tiresome and frankly AU fans are mocked for this. I'm disappointed in Dlin this yr and have gotten major thumbs down. Thank goodness for Nix becuz we have struggled at qb recruiting for yrs. There is a reason coaches want Cord. So you guys need to get ur heads out of ur butts and get some cold lemodade on ur faces. Recruiting brings titles. I hope we can get to the playoffs this yr and gain some mo but I foresee a perrennial 2nd/3rd sec west team.

I dont read your post as a melt. More of reality. Its something that needs to be understood.

If you guys think that all the sudden Auburn is going to start recruiting at the Alabama level, you are going to continuously be disappointed. Its not going to happen. All the copy and paste from every recruiting site out there is not going to put blue chip recruits in Auburn Alabama like it is up state. Its just not going to happen. Auburn will get its shots but its not the major in state school with the history.

UGA is obviously on a historic roll in recruiting right now. You are not going to compete with that. The state has the talent and Kirby has locked it down for the most part. It wont last forever but for now, kids are going to flock there.

The whole "Gus indeed better step it up." is kinda silly. You are asking for something that is just not going to happen short of hiring Bill Belicheck as head coach

I do worry about Pappoe and hope he stays but there is a chance he will bolt before the end of the cycle. We have seen it before and it will happen again

No, but we had a coach who was being negatively recruited against for his spot on the hot seat. The whole reason we’re doing as well as we are is because Gus is locked in and that’s not ammo for anyone anymore. Now if we can pull off another solid year, we should be able to break through even more.

I think you are putting too much stock in that. We won the National Championship in 2010 and it did nothing for our recruiting. We went again in 2013, did nothing for our recruiting. Im not saying it is not better, Im just saying that its no guarantee and we are still Auburn and not a consistent national power.

Nick Chubb had 223 carries for 1345, Sony Michel 156 for 1227, and D'Andre Swift got 81 for 618

and

Jake Fromm threw 181 for 2615

Until we utilize more of a team approach, let more than the chosen few carry the load (not simply a RB thing), it'll take a stake through the heart to stop kids from flocking to Kirby (ie: staying and playing for the home team). We are in the toughest half, of the toughest conference, and (most likely) have had the most success against the best team of the last decade. What's with all the crying? There's only a hand full of teams that can even compete at this level week, after week, after week. We just need to have a little more left in the tank come end of the year (and play ball to the end of every game).

I agree we are doing as well as can be expected. Every year we sign a pretty good class and come in second, usually to the state schools, for a lot of top kids.

It just seemed like this year we might actually get some of those guys and lost them at the end at huge positions of need and not to the state school. Frustrating.

No crying at all. I like what we are doing on the field.

My comments are for the guys melting over not getting 5* guys over Alabama and Georgia.

Sure I would like to win every year but we are doing well and I like our direction.

The good news is if we can close on Puckett, Hall, and Wooden that puts us at like 6th with fewer commits than some teams in front of us. Problem is other than those guys I don't know what other top guys we have a real good shot at.

wasn't you...

... it was just easiest Georgia comment to find and not all that dreary. Just not melting this early AU always gathers up good at the end. (O'line might make me start)

Don't know why people are melting. This is going to be Auburn recruiting and football until we find a real HC. The high school players see that. People talk about the negative recruiting and all. Giving the wrong guy an extention isn't going to change that.

And Lanier, I get what you are saying about the "state school" and all, but Clemson and other teams aren't the state school. Yet they don't let that hold them back. The problem is, we only have 2 elite recruiters on staff: T-Will and Kodi.
