Damnit. I thought we wanted him at C.

We like him at a guard but I still don't see any flaw in your original logic

5* DT Travon Walker is announcing Tuesday night. AU is a finalist but it would be a stunner if he picked us. Down to UGA/SCAR & Dawgs probably win again

Maybe he’ll take Boobie with him next week

Ya but this is still pretty early list. I expect some bigger names to make it
Tough part is literally everyone is having a big event next weekend

We should probably prepare ourselves to hear that A LOT on the recruiting front over the next several years.

As much as I appreciate the coaches and their hard work recruiting, without o and b glasses on it's obvious that UAT and UGA continue to be recruiting on a higher level. I worry about Oline AND Dline recruiting. Don't just assume RG will pull it out at the end; we are losing battles and that is a concern.

It is understandable thought. UAT has won 5 championship and continues to be the premier college football program right now. That recruiting train will keep rolling
As for UGA, they have always out recruited us. The state of Georgia is a recruiting hotbed and with their recent success, they are going to get a lot of that instate talent. We have proven in the past that we can beat them anyway.
Its always a concern but its really not surprising.

That's how it's always been. AU consistently finishes 4th in SEC recruiting rankings. What is exciting about this class though is the gap between us & them has a chance to be the smallest it's been if we can close on some of these top targets. AU has already proven that we recruit at a high enough level to be competitive against those programs.

I worry about Olin
Agreed. I like this OL class but when you see what UGA & BAMA are doing there's a clear gap. But only way its gonna change is if AU can start developing guys, putting them in the league & they having decent careers. Not easy to do... However, it is encouraging that we have hit on two guys near the top of our board in Justin Osborne & Keiondre Jones. If we can finish Will Putnam & a solid OT that will end up a nice class. Need to finish tho

What DL recruiting battles are we losing? Travon Walker was a hope & a prayer. We only recently became a factor & that was mostly due to Bruce Pearl pushing for him to play bball. That has been an UGA/SCAR battle for some time. If there's any coach that has earned trust it's Garner. He will get his

FYI LSU 247 mods seem to think LSU might be trending for Emery again. If they were to land him, no way I see Cain also landing there. Could help push him to AU....

Bama and UGA are state schools. As long as they continue to win they will and should out recruit us.

UGA 247 says that Trezman Marshall will be at UGA's event this weekend. UGA very confident he will stick
Was hoping AU might sneak him on campus Saturday. Seems like our top 2 MLB targets are strong elsewhere (Starks LSU, Marshall UGA) so interested to see if new names start popping on the board. Might be patient tho & see if bad LSU season opens up window again for Starks

Is Booth not visiting anywhere?
Posted on 7/23/18 at 9:09 am to blzr
Booth is going to Clemson Friday. Says he will visit AU too but no set date yet

Honestly it's slim pickings right now on who will be at event. I expect there will be some surprises but I wouldn't expect an especially loaded list
Good thing for AU is they have already had their biggest event in Big Cat Weekend. Obviously would love to have all those guys back but it ain't happening with literally everybody else having big events too
