I definitely have not given up. I had a couple of strokes last Fall as well. Minor as far as strokes go, but still strokes. It has just been a crazy 18 months!

KN put up a decision day article for Luke Deal that's basically the same info we've seen. No one knows who he picks but AU & ND seem to feel the most confident. With that said, given way Deal has kept this close to vest Michigan & NCState still have real shots too. KN says spoke with close source this morning & Deal didn't even tell his parents his decision until this morning. KN sticking with his CB to AU but has low confidence just hasn't heard anything to make him change it

Reading LDs interview, my guess is ND unless he decides to stay closer to home.

My guess is it's Notre Dame as well. Hoping I'm wrong as he's my favorite TE target right now

I dont see how any TE could look at our offense and feel secure in committing here. I think ND - Kelly can work a TE.

We sell "be the next Lutz" hard to TE recruits

I agree, but I think ND is stacked at TE.

Some interesting comments from Rusty over on the Dawg board. This response is to a question about JD Bertrand still having a spot in UGA's class
Marshall being 4* Trezman Marshall who just recently visited AU for the first time

Kid can play, Marshall is the one I would watch with Auburn right now

Also said this yesterday

IF Rian Davis does in fact commit to UGA
I think the odds on Pappoe will slip and that is something that UGA is fully aware of.
Davis is HIGH on the board too, dont underestimate that at all

Looks like Wolk isn't really putting anything out anymore since the SECCountry news so basically down to whatever KN posts & the occasional free JLee article

Considering these recruits were probably 12 or 13 when Lutz was at AU that pitch probably doesn't work very well.

Thus why we can't sign any decent TEs

Not sure how we are signing TEs then. Lutzie had only 59 rec for 628yds in his career and single season high of 24 receptions
For comparison, OMac had 63 rec for 620 yards .... and Gus doesn't throw to RBs either

We are telling them that we want to throw to a TE, but don’t have “That Guy”.
Not exactly Chinese Arithmetic. We tell him that we want to use a TE, or two. Plus, he blocks like an extra OT, where ever he lines up. He puts guys D’s in the dirt.
Not sure what you want to hear, but that is the jist of it.

But he's basically the best we got right? I mean who do you think we should sell?

We could sell being the next Uzomah. We will only throw to your three times a year but they will be clutch TD's.

Uzomah didn't put up great numbers, but he's had a decent pro career.
I think people forget about Landon Rice and how much everything with him hurt us.. Losing a highly recruited player, depth that we still haven't recovered from, and the stats he could have potentially put up but didn't cost us in recruiting.
Also Luke Deal needs to hurry up already lol... I think he chooses us for the record.

Best TE numbers for Auburn in the last 40 years was Robert Johnson in 2002 with 30 catches and 4 TDs.
Fred Baxter led the team in 1991 with 28 catches and 2 TDs.
Actually, all through the Dye years, the NFL actually had a hankerin' for Auburn TEs, but mainly because they knew how to BLOCK.
From 1981 to 1992, Dye put the following TE's in the NFL:
Ed West (14 NFL seasons)
Ron Middleton (10)
Jeff Parks (3)
Walter Reeves (8)
Fred Baxter (10)
Outside of Robert Johnson in 2002 and a couple of nice flashes by Andy Fuller under Tiny Tot and Lutzy under Chiz/Gus, the TE position at Auburn has been a vast wasteland of either no-talent or wasted-talent since Dye retired.
