UGA losing TE coach. Wish Luke Ford hadn't signed early

That will be a tough one to get. Historically 5* on ESPN is top 10-15 overall territory.

Ah didn't realize they were so limited. In reality that's probably the way it should be. I know 247 wants to emulate the NFL draft tho and say these 32 guys will be first round pick.

If he just stays where he's at tho that will be fine. Honestly didn't think AU would have a top 50 rated player this year so for aesthetics hope he sticks around up there

He will be the highest ranked backup QB in the SEC in 2019.

2019 QB race

Next year is going to be a fantastic off season.

ETA: Not to derail the thread, but I think the biggest factor in it will be the snaps Willis is able to get next year in garbage time. Stidham has a year under his belt so he doesn’t need the extra reps late in blow outs.

I’ve seen Gatewood a couple of times on campus and that dude is a monster. I’m stoked to have him on the roster.
He did his recruitment the right way, too.

He found the college, coaching staff and team he loved, committed early, and stuck with them through the entire process. He didn’t make a circus out of it and act like a 13 year old girl (Reuben Foster, Rashaan Evans, Brent Calloway, etc). The guy acts very mature for his age.

Assuming nobody transfers, namely Willis. Knocking on wood as I type this.

I'm still not sure if Gus is going to let him get in early enough and throw the ball around. Still envisioning Gus leaving Stidham in until mid-4th then Willis running zone read mandatory handoff.

He watched the natty live and saw what a prepared TFr QB did but Gus habits die hard.

No. Most if not all his recruitment was with Chip.

That’s not true. He committed when Lashlee was here. Lashlee was a big part in his recruitment too

^ this

Willis committed Dec 30th. Lashlee left January 12th. Lashlee sealed the deal with Stidham and was one that landed Willis. Not bad parting gifts

Ah well Lashlee landed him too. Gatewood once called him a "2nd father"

What's crazy is Lashlee almost also stole back Lowell Narcisse from LSU. Dude did work for AU before leaving (Gatewood, Stidham, Willis)

KN put up an update on Calvin Anderson last night. Apparently Gus Malzahn & Chip Lindsey visited him & blew him away. Called them "awesome" & "genuine coaches". Says AU is definitely now getting an official visit & are in his top 3 with Texas & Michigan. Sounds like his OV will most likely happen Feb 10th but that's not set in stone. Also he might not take anymore visits after that as he's trying to whittle things down. Said he really liked what they had to say about family & their players. Felt that off the field AU could do a lot for him. Apparently we are recruiting him for the left tackle spot which I found interesting. Oklahoma & TCU are also teams to watch. Will OV to Michigan this weekend. He set a decision deadline for himself of March 25th but wants to end things before then

Would be a huge stopgap for this class. Got a lot of high upside projects on campus that might not be ready next year Anderson would maybe let someone like Ashley get his feet wet as AU's 6th OL next year when we go unbalanced or heavy. Sounds like we are a real threat to actually land this kid now despite losing Hand
