Final Rivals rankings come out today. Interested to see where Gatewood lands. Also I think Monday might get a bump tho probably not all the way to top 100

Joey Gatewood jumps back into the top 100 for Rivals all the way #62. Martin still in top 100 but slipped down some. Will post target/commit list here in a bit

Rivals100 Update: Nine new five-stars (Rivals)
quote:

5* CB Oliajah Griffin

“I absolutely loved Griffin when I watched him during his senior season because he's so smooth, so athletic and he was a big-time playmaker in all three phases for Mission Viejo. He performed really well against elite national competition at the Under Armour game, only furthering our belief he's one of the best players in this class. There have been comparisons to Darnay Holmes, especially when the new five-star was committed to UCLA, but Griffin is a little different in that he's skinnier and more sudden than Holmes. USC is a main contender in his recruitment with a host of SEC and ACC powers also in the mix.” –Gorney

5* CB Tyson Campbell

“Campbell is a work in progress, but his size and speed combination will play well in college. If he continues to learn the position, he should be a can’t-miss prospect by the time he sets foot on campus. Physically, they don’t make cornerbacks much better than Campbell, who is considering Miami and Georgia.” – Chad Simmons, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

Rivals100 Update: Big movers (Rivals)
quote:

The final 2018 Rivals 100 has been released with much of the focus on the new five stars. However, there were many prospects that made big jumps in the rankings and a few that slid pretty far as well.

Here’s a breakdown from our team of analysts on the biggest risers and sliders in the Rivals100.

RISERS

4* LB Quay Walker

“Walker really showed what type of athlete he is against some elite offensive players in Orlando at the Under Armour All-America Game. The burst he has and his closing speed stood out as much as anything, but how he ran with top athletes in coverage may have been what impressed the most. When you look at his frame and his athleticism, you see a potential star outside linebacker on the next level. Walker is committed to Alabama, but he is taking a hard look at Georgia and Tennessee. Auburn and Florida are hanging around too, but it is likely to come down to the Tide, Bulldogs and Vols on Signing Day.” – Chad Simmons, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

4* QB Joey Gatewood

“Gatewood’s skill continues to catch up to his high sky-high potential. After a great Under Armour All-America Game, Gatewood showed he is becoming a more poised passer. The Auburn signee has always had the physical tools, and those are beginning to become more refined.” – Rob Cassidy, Rivals.com Florida Recruiting Analyst

Edit: Also interesting to see talks about him switching to OL. Wonder if that is part of the reason got a late offer. Maybe AU sees his future on the OL

Also of note on Langham....

Horton not only offered him, but asked him to cancel his other OVs and commit on the spot (was a bold move, IMO). Malik said he felt that he should honor his word to the other coaches and go on the visits.

Well I guess it was worth a shot

So you don't see him switching any of those visits for AU?

Or maybe we are so desparate for 1 or 2 in this class that we are taking one the staff sees with some upside.

Seems like he has the size to take a flyer on him finding a home in college. Sign him up

I’ve seen Gatewood a couple of times on campus and that dude is a monster. I’m stoked to have him on the roster.

I wonder if ESPN moves him up from #30 overall on their rankings on Wednesday?
