So just saw that SCAR dropped Marlon Character because of grades. If he had stayed probably is challenging for a starting role next season & would have saw PT this past season
Edit: Can't remember if he got booted or not
Kid has/had issues. He was "respectfully asked to leave".

Maybe Gus will let Lindsey take over and start letting QBs audible and read defenses.

Most coaches don't do that. Have you watched many of the college games? Even Heisman winner Mayfield would look over to the side for the plays.
Name me a college QB that audibles and calls their own plays?

Yeah the audible thing is blown out of proportion. If you watched the Rams game, even they were doing the same thing we do. They would set up. The coach would see what the defense was doing and call the audible into Goff. Goff would then call the audible. Only difference was he didn't have to look at the sideline because of the mic in the helmet.

Agreeing with most don't let them do any audibling, but UCLA let Rosen do it in 4th quarters and Peterson lets his QBs do it sometimes. Yes yes I know, look where it got them.
What we need is the ability to step up in the pocket when the Center isn't getting blasted and to work on timing throws before the route breaks. Takes a lot of time for college QBs. Cam and Marshall could escape out of shitty playcalls and make things happen because DBs couldn't cover WRs coming to the ball or them running it. Our OL might not be at that level next year to allow a QB to break loose and do that so he has to work on his reads and delivery. A true TE would be lethal but we don't have that. Hand has is work cut out for him in pass pro and his working against bad stats historically from his OLs.

We don’t necessarily needs the QB calling the whole game, but situationally (specifically when we got fast) he needs to be able to make some calls.

Keith Niebuhr flipped his crystal ball pick for Gouraige to Auburn after the game.
He also set his Caleb Tannor CB as foggy.

Was his Tannor CB before that to AU or somebody else?
Posted on 1/9/18 at 7:05 am to RandySavage
I believe KN CBed him to Auburn the day Andres committed to Stanford.
Posted on 1/9/18 at 7:06 am to jangalang
So maybe we are backing off him?
Posted on 1/9/18 at 7:06 am to RandySavage
Probably. Believe he was a known academic risk.

Im not sure its grades with Tannor. With Oladele and probably Jibunor there are bigger needs with a handful of spots left.
Gouraige would be great, Barnes as well and we are in some tall cotton on the OL.
Someone please give the latest rundowns on what it looks like for that last DB spot.

Unless something has changed AU is not worried about Tannor's grades. Not enough spots to take another DL

AU swinging for fences with Tyson Campbell, Kelvin Joseph and Olaijah Griffin. Griffin probably best chance but all 3 are probably longshot. JUCO benjie Franklin no longer visiting this weekend but unclear if it's schedule change or if AU moving on. After that a number of backup options AU is looking at in Cam Taylor, Roger McCreary, CD Daniels and Joseph Foucha. First 2 OV this weekend

Thanks Paw....surprised you listed Foucha last....

Isn't Benjie Franklin a better CB then Roger McCreary? I thought Franklin was the second highest JUCO DB there is.

In my evaluation yes but no idea what coaches think. Also chance they are just moving his OV not that AU has passed. If they have moved on its probably a grade thing then

KN says AU might have both Matthew Hill and Olaijah Griffin on campus for OV this week

KN just posted a cryptic "Could be a big week for Auburn" thread. I am thinking AU lands Nix & Alaimo this weekend
