KN had an interesting post basically saying that AU really likes where they stand in their DL recruiting. Apparently an a DL committed elsewhere wanted to flip to AU this past weekend but AU sees him more as a backup option. KN thinks that if AU is turning a kid like him down they must be in a strong spot with other guys

FWIW the speculation is that it was Arkansas commit 3* John Mincey

I can see why, we have Fox, Oladele, Caleb Johnson, and Tannor all giving us looks, thats one strong line up for that position to try and pick from.

Now bring home Traore, Wonnum and Hill, Id love to have Jenkins too but not sure there is room.

It is amazing how we went from chicken Little’s in recruiting to not having room.

CB and OT are still the two biggest needs in this class to me. I'm not worried about DL at all as long as we hang onto the people we have committed already.

Tackle definitely a concern. Especially since Ashley was redshirted this year, hope we didn’t miss on him

We should end up with a solid class even if it lacks elite difference makers, but the concern is what UGA is doing and Bama will end up with theirs like always I'm sure..

It is clear that if you have elite lines, you can adjust at the skill positions.

Alright so Tutt gives us 15 commits which means we probably have 10 spots left if we sign a full class which I think we will because of recent attrition. Don't hold me to that tho....

Anyway, here's a general idea of how those numbers will probably shake out position wise

QB: 1
RB: 0
WR: 1-2
TE: 1
OL: 2-3
DL: 2-3
LB: 1-2
CB: 1-2
S: 0

Here's who AU feels really good about right now

4* Buck Richard Jibunor
4* WR Seth Williams
4* OG Tank Jenkins --> sounds like if we want him we can get him
3* DE Kayode Oladele
3* TE Michael Parker

Here's who we are in 50/50 battles for right now

4* OG Trey Hill
4* WR Anthony Schwartz
4* OT Badara Traore --> probably should have him in the next group but whatever
4* LB Quay Walker (BAMA Commit)
3* TE Tyneil Hopper
3* DE Andres Fox
3* CB Joseph Foucha

Here's who we are probably trailing for but are very much in striking range

4* QB Jarren Williams
4* OT Dylan Wonnum
4* WR Justyn Ross
4* LB JJ Peterson
4* CB Saivion Smith

Some higher ranked guys that AU is probably a longshot to land but are at least still in the conversation or are getting visits

4* QB Emory Jones (OHST Commit)
4* ATH Harold Joiner
4* WR Tommy Bush
4* WR Marquez Ezzard --> recently decommitted from FSU
4* WR Lawrence Keys --> was supposed to visit for UGA, not sure he made it
4* TE Luke Ford --> LOL
4* DE Caleb Tannor --> including him here because of grades
4* DE Azeez Ojulari (UGA Commit) --> seen some rumors he might have visited Saturday
4* LB Channing Tindall
4* CB Jaycee Horn --> AU trying to get a visit

And here are guys to keep an eye on who would probably jump on an AU offer

3* QB James Foster
NR QB AJ Curry (WCU Commit)
3* OT Jalen Goss
3* DT John Mincey
3* DT Allen Love
3* DE Jamarcus Chatman (TEN Commit)
3* DE Shannon Carswell
4* LB Zakoby McClain --> KN says AU not really pushing for him anymore
3* LB La'Dedric Jackson
3* LB Braelen Oliver (MIN Commit)
3* CB Jalyn Williams (UF Commit)
3* CB Cam Taylor
3* CB CD Daniels (MEM Commit)
3* CB Derek Turner
3* CB JaKorey Hawkins (OM Commit)

Good chance I forgot some names but this should give you the gist. As of now, here's what would be a realistic best case finish. In other words, this COULD happen but chances are unlikely

4* QB Jarren Williams
4* WR Justyn Ross
4* WR Seth Williams
4* OG Trey Hill
4* OT Dylan Wonnum
4* Buck Richard Jibunor
4* DE Caleb Tannor
3* DE Andres Fox
4* LB Quay Walker
4* CB Saivion Smith

I didn't include a TE to make the numbers work. This group would give AU a final class score of 273.43 which would put us in the 8-10 range

As of today though, this is who I think AU actually finishes with

NR QB AJ Curry
4* WR Seth Williams
3* TE Michael Parker
4* OG Trey Hill
3* OT Jalen Goss
4* Buck Richard Jibunor
3* DE Andres Fox
3* DE Kayode Oladele
4* LB Quay Walker
3* CB Joseph Foucha --> this is more a wish than a real prediction

This would be 256.78 which would probably guarantee a not top 10 finish but somehwere in the 12-15 range

I suspect we end up signing something in between these lists. Winning SEC title would definitely help us possibly close on some other higher rated guys out there. We will see what happens. Could be a wild finish

Is it me, or are the 2018 and 2019 pool of DL kids low? Doesn’t seem to be really elite guys like Brown, etc.

Hasn't been really any elite DTs coming out of GA which really hurts AU. There's some decent size pools but just not a ton of ELITE talent. That doesn't look to change in 2019 right now but we will see

That's why getting Miller was so big. He has one of the higher ceilings you will see in either class

What's the deal with Joiner? Anyone have a clue as to where he's going? Last I heard he wanted to go to LSU, then they signed a bunch of RBs. With no RBs on our board, I'd think there would be interest on both sides.

Tiger Paw,

You love you some Foucha dont you! I do too. If we dont have someone like Savion Smith fall our way, I hope we take him as a second DB. Course you might take him as an OT Just kiddin.

Nice work on the summary, any scenario looks pretty good. And that defensive line projection is quite nice if it happens.

He's going to LSU. When we got Asa Martin that ended any hope with Joiner. He's already said doesn't like Bama's depth chart & that he thinks he's better than who LSU has signed

FWIW he's the ultimate boom/bust prospect in my mind. He's either gonna end up a superstar with his skillset or is going to flame out. Very interested to see how he turns out

I make no bones that I am a Joseph Foucha fanboy

Really happy with what we doing on DL. You can see the next group loading up after this current DL crop. Hopefully we can find a Montravius Adams/Derrick Brown type of stud DT prospect in the 2019 class because we are going to need another dude soon after the 2018 football season

I'm going to really miss this group of DL when they are gone, what they did Saturday was a thing of beauty. Amazing how good they are and imagine if Cowart and Jackson had stayed/lived up to their billing.

The great news is they are likely all coming back next year except for Holland. I really believe too that T.D. Moultry absolutely has the tools to some day be similar to Holland, maybe not next year, but the year after that.

Marlon Davidson and Brown are going to wreck shite next year. Add Moultry, Bryant and Coe in there and our DL will be good again. Just have to keep the recruiting up.

I love Coe and Marlon and the others you mentioned but we we need a big nasty to replace Dontavious when he leaves. He's been a beast this year

I think Newkirk is going to be a good one on the interior.
