Not sure why Rocker isn't here. Momma needs to call him home.

So it posted somewhere that Rocker did not want his kid to have to move again. Wants him to be able to finish out at his current HS. TIFWIW

KN just CB'ed WR Ryan Davis to Auburn. Says we're making a huge move for him. I didn't even notice it, but he shot all the way up to #52 overall on Rivals (#8 WR).

Look at UGA DL class vs. ours :(
You have to be some sort of lazy to have no DEs committed at this point, especially when there's a need

We didn't seem to have a shot at nearly that entire shot even if Jesus was our DL recruiter

From McBryde:
quote:
"I'm cool with (Will) Muschamp and I'm going to stick with Auburn," said McBryde. "Auburn's a great school and I'm a great fit there."
quote:He also says he may not make his visits to LSU and UF because he hates traveling, so it'll depend on if he feels like it when the time comes
"I talked to Muschamp Tuesday or Wednesday, he was just making sure I was coming up there in January for my official visit," said McBryde.

quote:Rock would not help the DL recruiting issue. He's a good developer but does not like to recruit. Pruitt is an Ace recruiter and brought in most of UGA's DL class. If I remember correctly Rock plans to stay where he is til his kids graduate high school.

Just read Allie's confusing post and here's my take on it. I think the if Cowart gets a big group together and AU will offer was pointless to say. Auburn and BC has an idea of the big group BC wants to bring for a visit and they all have committable AU offers already
Cowart
Cece
Holland
Kendrick Norton
Imari Marshall (apparantly BC and IM became close at the UA event.)
Also- possibly Tim Irvin and Arden Key.
AUC update today says Marshall is not planning on visiting Auburn at this point.

It was a miss for Garner. Maybe not in the end, but he still missed on him while we wanted him

We were by far the leaders according to nearly everyone until we stopped contacting him. What are you talking about?

quote:No we weren't. We were solidly in the mix though. Amm has been super negabarner on every site he's posted on lately. There's no point arguing with him in his current mindset. Just let him be.

And E, that's not me being nega, it's true. Yes, it doesn't matter that we missed bc he's a 209lbs DE that doesn't fit in our system. But before Boom, we wanted him and weren't going to get him. As for me being nega, we have a HUGE need on the DL, and we don't have anyone elite or even close to elite right now and it's January. If we can get Cowart or some of the guys Boom is starting to go after, my mindset will change. I just hate having to come from behind so late in the process while all of our rivals have studs racked up

I should have rephrased. Seemed like a number of our beat guys thought we would have snagged him which translates into being in the running

Jawon Pass has a top 5 of Auburn, Louisville, Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia Tech - and he will commit sometime in July 2015. Seems like an easy decision, right?
Auburn? Play under Gus Malzahn in a wide open offense that has displayed skill sets of Nick Marshall, Cam Newton and soon to be Jeremy Johnson. Auburn, AL is also close to Columbus, GA. Louisville? Play under Bobby Petrino. Say what you want about him, but he can develop quarterbacks and he doesn't have his "guy" there yet. Alabama? Why would a dual threat quarterback go there to waste his skill set? Likewise, why would anyone highly rated go there knowing they have landed 5 star quarterbacks in back-to-back years? Virginia Tech? LOL why would anyone want to play quarterback under Scot Loeffler? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? North Carolina? Don't really know much about their offense, TBH.
Auburn or Louisville would make most sense here, right?

I hope we can get Pass. The only guy I would rather over him would be Shea Patterson, but that doesn't look likely right now. Pass could kill it in our offense.
BTW, Kerryon Johnson was ranked #13 in the overall performers for his team in the UA game:

quote:
Johnson will play offense at the next level, but he spent the week at Under Armour working at safety. After taking a few days to find his bearings, Johnson showed a knack for finding the ball, making several interceptions in practice and three tackles in Friday's game. There's no reason to think he won't have success at Auburn on offense, but if he's needed to play in the defensive secondary he showed that he's more than capable during his time in Orlando
