Weird a guy like Chidi, who seems pretty raw, would want to reclassify to 2015.
Some UGA fan on the recruting board said it has to do with NCAA changing academic requirements after the 2015 class. No idea how accurate that is

247 said Kerryon Johnson was the best overall DB today
quote:
Kerryon Johnson – The 6-foot, 200-pound high four-star prospect may be set to play running back at Auburn but he may rethink that after how well he played at safety on Monday. He was the most fluid of all the defensive backs, including the corners, in position drills and then was very strong in coverage. He did well in one-on-one but he was best when providing over-the-top help at free safety. He had a couple nice pass breakups when the receiver had gotten by the corner deep.

Make the move happen Muschamp

I thought we had no shot at him?

quote:I'm starting to agree. Kerryon said yesterday that he hasn't played much safety, so don't be surprised if he got burnt a lot. If being the best DB is rusty for him, he could be an All-American at Auburn if he focused on safety.
Make the move happen Muschamp
And to think he was the most dominant offensive player in the state too this season...

I'm definitely not hopeful..
ETA: AUF shows him visiting on 1/16 but 247 has him going to Ok State that weekend.

Why don't we jus tlet him play both ways?
Also, let's recruit him for whatever position he wants. Seems to be good at all of them

He hasn't played a lot of defense, no use in wasting time on offense when he can perfect safety.

Yea recruit him, and then move him to defense if that's best.

New rivals article on D. Payne looks VERY promising for us:
@Allie_Davison: TICK TOCK | Auburn? Alabama? Five-star DT Daron Payne will make a decision between the two in-state schools Friday: LINK
Few quotes:
"I grew up an Auburn fan," he said. "I would love to play for my childhood team. Muschamp is a great coach -- so is Coach (Gus) Malzahn and Coach Garner. I love Coach Garner."
Payne was one of the first prospects Muschamp contacted after he was hired, and that particular move by the former head coach meant a lot to him.
"It was important because it made me feel like a first priority," he said. "Got to learn more about him and what he wants to bring to the table."
The two spoke in-depth about the need Auburn has for elite defensive playmakers. The 6-foot-2, 335 pound tackle has expressed his desire to play for a team that more than just wants him over the last few months.
"He was just telling me that they are losing all these defensive lineman and seniors," he said. "And I could come in and make an immediate impact and have early playing time."
"I don't want to be just pushed back in the roster. I want to feel like a team needs me."
