Per Rivals UAB WR Jamari Staples will OV AU today and is expected in AU around noon. Should AU offer JS would be eligible to play in 2015 and have 3 years to play 2.

Just saw where LSU took a 3* spread QB out of TX. I don't think they know what they are doing. Could that help with that 5* WR out of LA?

I don't remember seeing this kid play much. I do know they lit State up with almost 400 yards in the air.

No. LSU & Okie St are the teams to beat for Tyron Johnson.

Article on AUC about Jason Smith ready to sign tomorrow. Not that there was any question if he would, but it still sounds like he's going to start out at QB when he gets here. I feel like he could possibly make an immediate impact at WR.

I profiled him last week. He's a really big, tall deep threat at receiver. 3 to play 2, understands blocking and assignment football.

Low risk, high reward. Short scholarship commitment for a guy that can physically and mentally play in a game right away.

Not that it matters at this point, but he's not really a good receiver. He's a good QB, though. He's most intriguing as a KR/PR honestly considering our QB depth. He will challenge JJ to start.

Smith has the skillset to be a damn good QB in our system... and with three years if eligibility, he's got more time to learn than Marshall had as a JUCO.

Smith could be our version of Blake Simms, where he plays another offensive position for a while then starts at QB as a senior.

He played wide receiver in the Alabama/Mississippi All-Star game and earned MVP as a high school senior, bro. People were raving about him.

Half this board thought Sammie Coates was shite because he dropped balls. You're going to hate seeing Jason in the slot.

Also, the number 1 reason why Jason is never going to be a good WR is because he really, really doesn't want to play WR.

(He's more useful at CB than WR, IMO)

I love Sammie Coates, always have. Loved him out of high-school and was the first to hype him up on this board. That doesn't apply to me (not saying you meant it to).

I don't know, I think I would just rather have Jeremy Johnson and Sean White at quarterback. They can't contribute elsewhere, while Jason Smith can. Wherever that may be.

I wouldn't mind seeing him at cornerback, FWIW.

I have been complaining about Sammie but I would say most of his woes were due to whatever injury was killing him. I just have come to accept his inconsistencies. I never accepted perceived "quit" on deep balls

Per AUC on Montavious Atkinson

-spoke to Boom last night
-Auburn wants him at weak-side LB and nickel back
-nickel is similar to star position
-like him as a hybrid player
-“100 percent” firm to Auburn
-still plans to OV UGA & UT
-Vols second
-UT is recruiting him at LB

Per AUC Boom has not called Jeffrey Holland since becoming the new AU DC.

I may be the only one but this does not surprise me given the behavioral issues rumored about him.

Rivals Camp. Never heard specifics, but I seem to recall one Carl Lawson getting kicked out of camp as well so...

He doesn't like tots. Teams have been stepping back from him when this became known.

Appearantly whatever JH and a couple others did was worse. And yeah no site is talking specifics but all the recruiting reporters know about it.
