Interesting. He does not run near that fast in pads. I have never seen him break away from anybody.

Most of your highlights did not address the break away speed thing on Tate. Joey's did. And with that I stand corrected. I guess I was too frustrated with him going East-West way too much in his college career that it clouded my perception of his speed.

Another great name, in a class of great names, is visiting today: Daniel Imatorbhebhe.

Speaking of which, Bowman Archibald's mother in an Auburn alumnae. He's coming to JD too.

I am intrigued by young Bowman. He seems like a pretty versatile player. (DE, TE, OL & OLB) He should see a bump in rank as well once we get 2015 class' camp circuit rolling.

I agree. He's got pretty good quicks in the box and gets through the clutter pretty well. He could strike harder, it looks like to me. He can run (at TE) but looks sluggish running routes. Looks like a football player. Florida 5A competition, so pretty good.

Yeah it did. There were some runs that were in there that addressed it plenty. If you want me to prove you wrong again I can do that.

I only put in the pro one for fun. The Auburn highlight tape had some for sure. Sorry your computer is broke.

Are we going to rehash the 2013 football season in this thread? If so I would appreciate Sandman changing the title to show the change of the threads focus.

found this gem froma few pages back.... if someone wants to start a thread on Ben Tate and discuss his speed, I'm all for it.... or maybe we need to get sandman to change the title of this thread.

I completely disagree FWIW. I think you're focusing on this years personell when equating what a running back needs to be to fit our system. Someone with this guy's style could just as easily fit and flourish.

He could fit, but I think you're misinformed if you think this offense isn't a lot more dangerous with a runner that can bounce plays outside and burn defenses. It becomes an even bigger need if you've got a QB like Sean White who isn't going to freeze defenses by posing as a threat to break runs around the edge.

I just dont see how a kid who is already 220 pounds as a HS Sophomore with limited speed/burst/change of direction is our most coveted RB in two classes. Kid looks like he's going to play at 230-240 pounds. Its funny that Ellitor brought up Derrick Green...I never understood the hype behind him, and sure enough he looked like nothing special at Michigan this year.

Per Hokanson:

Tyler Carr, Kerryon Johnson and Darian Payne aren't confirmed. Payne is a maybe.
For Junior Day. He'll have updated info/list around 4.

Read on another board Payne is going to MSU's jd with teammate Mixon.

No. I was not going and did not watch past 3 runs to find it. Joey was good to point to his specific references.

Some good stuff per AUC LINK

-As of now AU plans to sign 21-23. Obviously attrition can change that number

-Planned per some positions
OL 4-5
DL 4
CB 2
LB 2
Safety 2

-Staff's QB board order excluding TQ
1. Torrance Gibson
2. Kia Locksley
3. Jarrett Stidham
4. Kyler Murray
-Gibson clear #1. 2-4 interchangable.

-John Burt, Dexter Carter Jr, and Jayson Stanley are the top group on the WR board
-Georga Campbell and Preston Williams in that group as well

-Top 3 TE targets are Jalen Wilkerson, Bowman Archibald, and Will Gragg
-AU likely team to beat for Wilkerson but staff is going slow due to a neck injury last year.
-Archibald is coming to Junior Day and his mom went to AU.

-Daylon Mack expected in Friday night

-Staff does not feel good about 5* CB Kevin Tolliver, LSO commit

-AU feels good where it stands with 2 of the top LB targets in Roquan Smith and Darrell Williams.
-They feel they are right in it for Jeffrey Holland also
-AU is still evalling in state LB Richard McBryde

-3* OL Aaron Garza visited AU yesterday and today. He is not a take for AU at the moment.

That was me guessing based on at one time it looked like there would be 26 graduating or going pro from this class. Some of them left this past season. The number of those leaving now is 23. It was never reported that we would sign a big class. It looks like my guess will be wrong. FWIW as of now the staff can sign 29 in 2015 if they want to.
