I doubt he's 6-4.
I dunno he looks pretty long on film. Then again someone said Juwon Pass (6'5) only looked 6'3 or 6'4 yesterday

After his 2 day visit Trent Thompson says AU is a close 2nd to UGA. KN quick to note though it's going to be an uphill battle.

It always was. It will take a UGA melt or an Auburn DLine explosion for us to get him.

What about the one we already have committed, Jalin Buie? Is he supposed to be any good?

well FSU needs to hurry up and select their QB out of Locksley, Jackson, and Francois

quote:As well you should but a coach's board should be there board regardless if a kid is in state or not. Board should be based on evals, character, leadership and fit with the team. If a kid that is already a take is in state then great but don't make a kid a take just because he's in state. That is foolish and limited thinking.
I value in-state kids.

I disagree. While I agree that instate shouldn't be a main priority, it should factor into the board in some way since the board is a value ranking and there is value for instate

Most assuredly! If anyone doesn't think that other in-state school doesn't factor that in, they would be wrong. Does anyone actually think they needed another OC prospect?

alabama hasn't gone out of their way in recent classes to take in-state guys.... they've really broadened their recruiting territory over the last four/five years or so. The 2014 class seems to be a return to more in-state kids for them, but it may be more of an exception than the norm for Saban right now.
i just don't get all the fuss over an interior OL recruit... especially when we've got a couple already committed (one of which is from the state of AL).
eta: when was the last really good OG this state produced?.... i don't think chad slade would fit that bill... and the good guards AUs had recently are all OOS guys -- Byron Isom and Mike Berry weren't from AL... neither is Kozan The best guards Saban has had are OOS... Barrett Jones and Warmack.

quote:To me it's only a determining factor if 2 or 3 guys are neck and neck on your board. If an OOS is clearly higher on your board and you feel you have a legit shot with him then he's the priority. Recruiting, as most thing are, is logically done best when choices on who to take are done with your head and not from your heart or emotions as TT was conveying last night.

And Bama is the poster child for not taking an in state kid a few times when they should. Roc Thomas says hello.
Moving and grooming Kim for Center like has been dome for this class has made many things a higher priority to fill our last 10 spots in this class before taking Darryl Wiliams.

Out of their way? no Do they factor it in? yes

Kipp Adams seems to think significant news could be brewing with Trent Thompson. I read the article sounds like TT may committ to UGA sooner than expected.
I kinda wish the staff would move on from TT and Payne and look elsewhere.

They have somewhat. Not moved on, but there are others. Next few weeks will tell the tale.
