Really don't want us losing Bridges.

Meh, I wasn't really talking about backup plans.

Ivey - High Kipp Adams cb'd Ivey to us today.
Walker - Low
Francois - High. He is on campus and may not leave until tomorrow.
Slayton - High
McBryde - High.
Holland - High
Darryl Williams - I don't think he's a take.

If all this comes to pass we'll have roughly 3 spots left and absolutely no DTs. Also didn't factor in a WR. I know we want at least 1.

Apparently he dominated our camp and Florida's camp. I haven't watched his film, but if he shows out this fall, I would't call him a backup plan. Smooth 6'4 corners are rare, there's a reason us and UF offered on the spot.

I think we have a slightly better shot at Walker than that. His top 3 are us, Tennessee, and UGA. At last update, he highly preferred DE to OLB, so that hurts UGA. If UT flips Atkinson, that will definitely help their cause, but we have a good shot with Garner.

As for Francois, we'll see. I wouldn't say high chance, I still think FSU has the edge. Lamar Jackson looks more likely, and I'm ok with that. He's easily a better runner than DF, and has a good arm. He looks like a Nick Marshall clone to me. Taking a pocket passer like Queen with a runner like Jackson is an ideal haul, it gives us two different options

Westry is his name. He may not be a backup.

DE/DT is really the hinge here. Who and how many are really in the air. McBryde spent a lot of time with Gus. Ivey is a pretty done deal IMO.

So how many spots do we have left? Far as I can tell these are our remaining major targets... What are the odds we get these guys

Ivey
Walker
Francois
Slayton
McBryde
Holland
Darryl Williams?

11 spots left right now. Retroactively 10 as Golson would count to the 2015 initial scholly limit if he goes on scholly next May or August as I expect.

Ivey-AU cautiously optimistic
Walker-descent shot
Francois-Will know more after his visit
Slayton-Still top uncommitted CB target but we may not take anymore CBs if we hold on to Bridges
McBryde-AU big lead
Holland-AU lean at last report
Darryl Williams?-likely not a takre or top target at this time

wish we would quit wasting our time there and go balls out on Payne
The kid has balooned up to 350 lbs. Even though the kid is talented, Trust me, you don't want to go all out on a kid whose shown to be that lazy and undisciplined. At his weight he fits Bama's scheme and philosophy much better right now.

Burt, Phillips, Patterson would be nice but none of those look likely at all at this point.
Burt may not be a long shot for AU. He's likely not a take for home city FSU as they have other WRs higher on their board and there are conflicting reports that Texas would be too far for Burt for some of his family.

Too early to tell on Phillips. He just recently said AU picked up the heat big time.

While Patterson is likely an Ole Miss lean I would not say he's a long shot for AU just yet. We are squarely in that fight per nearly ever report.

is there anybody else I'm missing?
DT Jauintavius Johnson is a take and AU leads fairly big

Kirk Merritt has a top 3 of AU, Oregon, and TAMU with AU squarely in the fight.

Not necessarily. If he is truly open with himself about all that, he just described Coach Smith to a T.

The season needs to hurry up and start to get the excitement back around Auburn instead of our commits looking at schools like Tennessee and Ole Miss.

What did the Hoover staff know about him?

you don't think a rival school had info on players? They see him on film, at camps, in other sports. Also Hoover scouts the greater Birmingham area looking for football talent to bring to Hoover.

After his 2 day visit Trent Thompson says AU is a close 2nd to UGA. KN quick to note though it's going to be an uphill battle.

Maybe he'll change his mind after UGA has lost to USC and Clemson and AU is undefeated walking into the LSU game.

I won't get my hopes up on him at all no matter what. I think it would take something massive for him to not go to UGA. It would take UGA falling apart, Richt leaving, Us winning the NC, half our leaving DLine being hyped by the draft experts, and Garner moving in with them.
