It was real bleak this time last year. We didn't have Ruffin until BCW. But don't let me stop a good freak out!

Someone in that mock class that hasn't really been talked about much on here is the No. 1 JUCO DE.

Marquavius Lewis

What do y'all think about him? We were the first to offer him.

I've always really liked him since we offered. I love his film. His family likes AU a lot but SCe is the home state school so we'll have to wait and see.

Nobody is freaking out, just stating the obvoius. That mock class is very meh. I wonder why he thinks we'll basically miss on all of our top targets but somehow flip Ben Edwards

Not true. According to his projected class right now we hit on 10 or 11 of the staff's top uncommitted targets by position not counting his Payne pick per most recent info from AUC on prospects.

RB KJ and JR
HB if we take 1 Cox
WR Stanley (staff told him this week he was #1 on the WR board)
TE Wilkerson
OG Kim & Carr
DE Walker
CB Slayton
Safety Colbert & Edwards

Of the other 8, 5 are takes right now even if they aren't #1

Locksley
McGriff
Jaunty Johnson
McBryde &
Williams

2 are not in Wilson and Sharp and 1 unknown if he is a take or not in Lewis. Looks like the staff would be pretty happy with that class considering counting the 5 committed 21 of the 24 are takes in early April.

Being a "take" and a "top target" are two different things.

Trent Thompson
Mack
Payne
Gibson
Godwin
Holland
KJ
Patrick
Ro Smith
Eric Swinney
Warmack
Colbert

and a few more. They were the original "top targets"

as someone else mentioned earlier, and I agree with them, I think things are kinda set up this year for us to be the bridesmaid with a couple of our top targets... that's just how it goes sometimes.

edwards is a good example of coming in 2nd on a guy we really pushed for (and still are).

Just off the top of my head guys it seems like we are going to finish 2nd for...

Payne
Thompson
Mack
Holland
Smith
Godwin
Patrick
That's a lot of defensive talent to barely miss on.

Hopefully we can find a way to grab 1 or 2.

C'mon man. Stanley is our top WR prospect? I thought it was Burt...wait, he's obviously not coming here, so I guess that eliminates him. I also heard George Campbell was our top WR, but he's not likely either.

Too much of what you just claimed is simply "our top prospect from the list of guys we actually look strong for at the moment". I can guarantee you that Kevin Tolliver is probably our real "#1 CB" target, not Slayton. At TE it is likely Devonaire Clarington or Chris Clark, not Wilkerson who we were slow-playing. Walker is our top DE prospect? It was Patrick a few weeks ago (but now he looks UGA bound, whoops)...in reality our top choices there are guys like Byron Cowart and CeCe Jefferson.

Get what I'm saying?

I get what you're saying but you're going to the other extreme. A "top target" is somewhere in between what Ellitor and you are saying. There's always those national guys that would obviously be our top target if they ever showed real interest.

Guys like Payne, Mack, Godwin, Holland, Johnson, Patrick, Gibson are the guys that would considered top targets.

I'm sticking with my original prediction of Auburn with Kerryon. Although the recruiting process is strenuous and pressuring, I believe that he will stick with his original pick.

Kerryon Johnson to decide soon... Chris Nee, Florida State writer, thinks Auburn. The quote above is also from Austin W. Petty, which leads me to believe Kerryon Johnson told him he was coming to Auburn at some point.

I know what you are saying but I didn't really name complete longshots at all. Byron Cowart had us 'leading' early and we are in his Top 4 or so. ~Top 5 for Jefferson. Supposed to be getting an OV from Tolliver, etc.

Obviously we are unlikely to land any of those, but I didn't exactly list a bunch of kids from California who we have little chance of even getting a visit from. All the guys I listed are legitimate targets who the staff are trying really hard to recruit.

The point is, dont serve me flank steak but pretend that its a porterhouse. Ellitor should know better for as much as he follows recruiting.

Stanley has been the staff #1, we didn't know who it was. I have been told this by separate folks. Slayton is someone that Coach Smith and Coach Johnson both really like. If Tolliver is #1, Darius is #1-B. He is the State Champ in 100/200 last year as a SO. Will be the 3x champion by next year. The other people I don't claim to know about.

Cool Gif. Is that nerd for "I don't have shite to say that means anything. Much less anything to add to the conversation, so I will attempt to make everyone forget that I am clueless, and still waiting for my nuts to drop?"

Didn't work.

How am I not chill? I just finished a blunt, I am having a glass of Port and waiting on the basketball game. I happen to know a few folks that pass me information. Maybe you should come to a game and hang with me, I bet you would be surprised!!
