The one problem with the rolling recruiting thread. I can't remember what I asked and there's no way to find it without rereading the entire thing.

I feel better about LB than I do about safety and DL. How do you see us ending up? Personally, it sounds like we will miss on our top guys and end up with projects or JUCOs.

Not getting either of those. Which means we're down to two DT targets.
As I have said before we will have options with both of them. Even though Shaw has us behind Bama, UGA, and Ole Miss he does not have a commitable offer to Bama and UGA. If that does not change it will be an Auburn/Ole Miss battle to get him. On Frazier we are in his top 3 behind Arky and USC. If Arky goes 3-9 or 4-8 we will have a shot there...and USC just lost their coach. If Frazier does not mesh with the new coach or the coach does not want him there could be opportunity there also.

With Bama getting Clark tomorrow Evans becomes a must for us as a Star commit for this class. If we miss on him too then we are looking at guys like Demetrius Kemp at Safety.

On the DL I think we get Andrew Williams or Spencer Williams at DE. At DT I think we can get Frazier and/or Shaw. Admittedly we need things to happen like Arky tanking plus Bama & UGA not giving commitables to Shaw so it won't be easy. If we miss on them then the staff will continue to bust it's arse trying to get Street down for a visit and hope Arthur Williams qualifies. I also forgot Cory Thomas. He is high on the board at DT.

I know about all of this. We're not getting either.

Are you that supremely confident Shaw goes to Ole Miss or gets a commitable offer from Bama or UGA?...Cuz I'm not.

Per LSU 247 site, LSU is not pushing for DQ right now. They are focused on Noll and Dupree, and keeping the WRs they have. TIFWIW.

Some on the LSURB were saying the same thing a couple days ago. They think if LSU recruits DQ harder, it'll hurt their chances with the latter two.

Per AUC LINK

-Xavier Dampeer says there is a good chance he commits this weekend on his OV
-Auburn would take both Burton and Jackson at WR
-50/50 chance Burton commits this weekend.
-Miss St. likely leads for Jackson but not ready to call that one to them yet.
-No recent contact with 4* DT Kentavius Street
-The staff thinks they can get in on 4* CB and Texas commit John Bonney is something happens to Mack Brown

Hoke basically said the talk amongst Auburn commits is that Clark commits to Bama today.

talked w/ an AU commit...feeling is Clark is headed to bammer (GBPH)

I REAAAAAALLY hope that this hurts bammer with CJ Hampton, because he really is the better of the two as a safety and he'd play very early at Auburn. Clark is destined to be a Star position player at AU if he came here, so we'd still need another true safety, IMO.

Not worried about depth at Star with Therezie there another yr or 2 and Alexander/Harding/King all being able to play Star.

I like how you have to clearly indicate "position player" because just saying "Star" would confuse the frick out of people

I'm thinking we need to have some sort of better way of saying "safety-linebacker hybrid" than just the "Star" that it's being referred to.

"*LB" maybe? Or just call it the "hybrid?"

Honestly I'm disappointed that the Spur wasn't renamed the Talon.

Talon had caught on with the fanbase and people loved it. EJ basically just pulled a "GFY, I am giving it a generic name just to spite all of you "

I am all for calling it a Starbrid

Eagle backer. Then, to entice the best recruits to commit for that position, we introduce having the current Eagle backer run out into the center of the field during pre-game and the actual eagle dives down to land on the player's shoulder after circling JH and then be greeted by roars of applause.

Recruiting to me, a barely knowledgable person when it comes to that, seems like a low-priority @ AU right now for the rest of the class honestly. I expect pretty much all diamonds in the rough or leftovers and that's not sky-is-falling shite, JMO. Think the staff is focused on trying to win the games vice recruiting atm. Maybe picks up post-season but whatever.

What if they have an eagle phobia similar to Eric Berry being afraid of horses?

They are trying to something similar to Ole Miss last year. Ole Miss had nobody until they started winning and having an upward trending momentum as a program. They sold recruits on being part of something improving

Auburn is waiting until we are bowl eligible and competitive in games to do anything more so we have big selling points. That is why our OVs are all happening after the season for the most part
