Very athletic is an opinion? The dude had SEC scholarships in two sports
Yes it's an opinion. It's obviously the opinion of those who offered him. But still an opinion

It's not a part of my original argument but he decided to present them as facts when they're not.
Point being: Our QB situation right now is about as far from a sure thing as it gets. Saying Johnson is a guy that has the same style as a Russell or Freeman is ok. Saying he will be as good as Freeman was in college or Russell was in college is a pretty damn big assumption.
Frazier- Sucks
Wallace- Servicable
Johnson- Unproven, I think he'll be average.
Marshall- Unproven, I think he's either a huge success or a bust.
White- Unproven, I think he our QB for when Marshall leaves.
Queen- Unproven, haven't really watched him throw so I don't know.
Definitely doesnt look like we have the depth to say we're so deep it's a problem.

Read the whole post. I said Johnson = Average.
Plus a lot more QBs bust than go to the NFL so it actually wouldn't be as much of an assumption.
And yes occasionally Huge assumptions are correct or not big enough. But we make these comparisons for every prospect we get.

Apparently I do but I get tired of every recruit we pick up being projected as some NFL guy. A very small percentage of college players actually make it to the NFL. I like Jeremy Johnson but he is no Jamarcus Russell or Josh Freeman and probably won't be in the future. Sorry you don't like my opinion. Get over it.
Nope. You still don't, dumbass. A projection has everything to do with tools and almost nothing to do with production. I don't give a shite what ur opinion is of JJ. Just trying to enlighten you on what a projection is so you don't keep looking like you're missing chromosomes on this board.

Nope. A persons athleticism and their arm strength, relative to others, is a quantifiable fact. That's what a combine is for

I can see why we have come from 20 pages down to take a 51 page lead for the longest 2014 recruiting thread on the SECR in a matter of 5 or 6 weeks.

Projection:
It has every thing to do with production. If I project somebody to be a Cam Newton. I'm saying he will be a Heisman trophy candidate and be selected very high in the draft.

Read the whole post. I said Johnson = Average.

Ok. I can agree with that.

And since I haven't said it here yet, getting White was huge. He's our best high school QB recruit in a decade.
I shall refrain from unnecessary interjections.

We actually had it settled until KK got offended that I think Johnson is average.

Sean White has a better shot at being "average" than Johnson, IMO... JJ has more physical tools and better running ability. White is a good prospect but will rely on the athleticism of his teammates to make plays. Gus's offense has a better chance to reach its full potential under Johnson, more so than white.

Let me guess, because we've all witnessed Cam Newton dragging d-linemen around? That doesn't equate to being the functional norm for a top-notch offense by Gus. Newton is the outlier that could have made any offensive coordinator look like Albert Einstein. Gus's Tulsa record suggests he is quite comfortable with the likes of the Sean Whites of the world.
Dammit, I was pulled in again. I'll stop.

Maybe but I don't think so.

True.

Not necessarily. If you can put the ball exactly where you want to, the defense can't defend it.
