and high school DTs
Interesting stat, while HS DTs are hit or miss every juco DT that has signed with and gotten into an SEC school the past 5 years has been a quality contributor on his team's defense.

Not true.

Ellis Johnson - 1999 'bama, 1992 'bama
Harbison - 1999 'bama, 2001 LSU

While not SECC's, they still are conference championships, and that proves something.

JB Grimes - 1989 Arkansas, 1995 VT, 1996 VT, 1998 TAMU, 2012 stAte
Lashlee - 2012 stAte
Craig - 2012 FSU
Harbison - 2011 Clemson

And Smith helped get freaking MSU to the SECCG. That says a lot in itself.

TIFWIW but this guy says he is a close family friend and goes to church with the Marshall's

Andrew just got off the phone with the coaches and was told an offer could come anywhere from 2 weeks from now to 2 months. He is VERY disappointed if you can imagine. The coaches mentioned that they are concerned with weight. They seem pretty sure that Reese may forgo his senior year and the kid they pick up needs to be at playing weight (btw 290 and 315). I hope the delay does not bite them in the rear b/c Vanderbilt and UGA are in constant contact with him also.

Rodney is tweeting again, but I'll withhold getting any hopes up until DC starts tweeting about being #blessed.

Damn, they really think Reese is going to break out this season. That, or Reese is dumb as shite.

Actually, it's probably just Reese is dumb as shite

no center is declaring early, especially not one with a mediocre track record with one (hypothetical at this point) good season under his belt.

That sounds like a line to marshall to keep our options open. We discussed on the last page, OL isn't a huge position of need right now and it's only July... no reason not to see what's out there before taking a guy like marshall.

and that's not necessarily on knock on him... I think he could be a really good player... but interior OL is very hard to predict, especially one who's gotta add a ton of weight... and who knows if he'll maintain his quickness/athleticism at the weight needed.

Don't read too much into the guy's post yet. He is a newbie and Some of us over there are a bit skeptical. We should find out real quick if this guy is legit or not as AUC and AUR should have articles on Marshall's call today. That's why I said TIFWIW to start my post.

Can anyone think of a center who declared early?... like an actual good college center? Even the really good ones don't get taken until the 3rd round and beyond.

Dismukes can be good, but come on...

Per AUC Auburn did not offer Marshall. The staff is still looking things over. Marshall is still high on Auburn.

Now you need to go back over to AUF and apologize to that newbie you made feel so bad. He's obviously money on this recruit.

No. Not going to apologize. This was the only thing I challenged him on, made me skeptical, and I still don't believe it.

Side note....Andrew's sophomore year Carl Lawson played nose guard against West Forsyth and was completely neutralized by Andrew.
