We weren't talking about any of those things. We were talking about accuracy. My point was Newton got accurate with Gus. Why can't Harris?

If you have another example other than Newton, please let me know. I might change my tune and eat my words after seeing our first game. To be continued.

But what about the pro-styles? Trotter sucked, Moseley sucked, Pike (was considered by some as pro-style) sucked.

And none of those obliterated a camp with the top QBs in the country. I agree, these things are hard to pin. But it is great discussion for the fans.

So you don't think a QB can improve his accuracy unless they are an anomaly like Newton?

Considering it's mostly mental, more times than not that's an astounding no. These kids are all taught mechanics which will greatly improve accuracy. But they have to mentally accept them and implement them during the game.

So in short, I'd rather take the kid that listens and focuses on the smaller aspects of getting better - not just relying on being the best athlete on the field.

I'd agree, but from what I've read, Harris is one of the hardest working QBs you'll find. The improvement Harris has shown in the past year or two is incredible

Sure it is, but Harris isn't accurate

Neither was Cam before he got here. We should have taken an accurate JUCO QB instead right?

People only remember how Cam finished his collegiate career. His accuracy was suspect before he played for Auburn.
I trust Gus. He saw something in Cam Newton. He and Lashlee may see that Harris is the guy that can take us back to football nirvana.
I'm glad Harris is doing the deal next week so we don't have to wait 5 more months to find out.

For the record you are way overstating Cam's inaccuracy. He completed 62.4% of his passes his junior year of HS. That's all I could find but it does not compare to BH's 48%.

HS accuracy percentages have to be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe Cam made a bunch of short throws, or maybe his WRs were better? Maybe Harris throws a ton of deep balls. Protections could have a lot to do with it too.

When Cam was at UF and after he left, everyone in their program and all of their fans said he was notoriously inaccurate, which is why Brantley was considered to be the next starter whether Cam transferred or not.

Jacques Patrick is visiting Friday. It's going to be a fantastic '15 class.

Found Cam's stats at Blinn

60.7% (solid) 4.4/1 TD/INT ratio (very good)

...And Flying under the radar just like his recruitment, White visited Auburn and loved it. Still waiting on an offer. The coaches hope to let him know in a few days.
