I agree with you to some extent. The difference is I have confidence Malzahn will be productive and put out a competitive product along with his staff. I think with him being the HC will only enhance what we saw in 2010. 2011 was too much meddling to even blame Malzahn. I for one am not concerned with QB, and feel we will be good there.

me either, and I'm confident we'll put a productive offense on the field and as a result attract good QB talent... but unfortunately, we've actually got to show it first... where as teams like LSU and USCe don't.

I also don't think losing either Harris or White will be the huge deals... 12 months ago no body on this board knew who Nick Marshall was, now he's we're all thinking he's the savior (me included)...

I understand what you mean now. I totally agree with you on that.

Wut? You serious, bro?

They don't have any kind of advantage over Auburn in the quarterback department, and haven't in some time.

I don't think he is referring so much to better QB's as much as they have been successful and win. However, USCe has had a much better QB than us the last couple of years. At least one that performs better, and Mett was at least serviceable. So low isn't too far off bro.

He is basically saying if we perform well this year it will only improve our recruiting ability for top prospects.

Our last two seasons of QB play have been absolute garbage and we've lost a combined 14 games... if you can't understand the fact that this staff has to PROVE it on field, then I'm not sure what to tell you.

And LSU's has been a small step above garbage. Not to mention, they arguably had the far superior experience and talent at said position, and still couldn't produce results above mediocre at best.

The team needs to prove they can win, absolutely.

But my argument is that LSU won't just land Brandon Harris because they've had more recent success at quarterback. They've won games, yeah, but they haven't been overly superior at the quarterback position when compared to Auburn.

Not to mention, Gus Malzahn has proven to be successful with Chris Todd and Cam Newton. In that same timeframe, LSU had Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee, with a mediocre season of Zach Mettenberger. It's pretty much a wash.

whether you'd like to admit it or not, LSU has a lot more to offer a QB (and prospects in general) than AU has right now... really, there is no comparing the two, unfortunately. Sure, Malzahn did wonders with Cam, but we're three years removed from that and LSU has hired a an experience NFL OC with plenty to offer.

Even if the QB situations the last two years are a "wash" (which is being very kind to AU. Mosley/Trotter/Frazier make Mettenburger look like a Heisman candidate) the other factors come into play.

I did get laid off from my second job though. The new coaching staff has dissociated itself with me. They found a new bagman so my services are no longer needed.
Looks like we'll have to make another hire...

OR NOT! We have plenty of extra bagmen...

We're late to the party. This kid has been getting hype for the past year. Regardless, he's going to LSU

Saban and Miles' stupidity offering middle schoolers has everyone offering early now. Preschoolers will be getting them from the lower level schools just to get in on possible recruits. In a few years recruiting sites will start having to keep up with recruits for years before they are even Juniors.

My thoughts too. He's camping at Bama this weekend, also visiting us, but he's already camped at LSU once this summer, and is camping there again this month.

His dad mentioned Bo and Cam though when talking about us and how we have a tradition of great athletes, so that's nice.

Plus he goes to school on the LSU campus, and his dad posts on this site. There's no way he's not going to LSU

My kid is in middle school. I can't imagine one of his classmates getting a D1 scholarship offer at this point. It seems ridiculous.
