quote:The only reason I would have even considered that is because Saban would beg Tre harder than Casher. He tries to get every top LB he sees. As long as Tre is our lead recruiter I am not worried about him.
Here I thought Casher was the solid commit and Tre was more likely to waiver.

fwiw, the 247 insider report today said he's firm to Auburn. He talked to our coaches before and after the trip to bama and his coach and brother say his commitment is solid.
They go on to talk about how bama may be using him to try to get to Williams, but he seems about as solid to AU as anyone right now. And they said that Saban doesn't like guards that are 6'1", tops.

I'm sorry. I can't take any info from 24/7 cereal. Bama can offer a no name kid, and he jumps 200 spots in their rankings, and receives an additional star.

It's coming from our 247 writers, who don't have anything to do with the rankings.

No doubt. That site is trash IMO after seeing that shite - there is no logical explanation.. Maybe if the kid had dropped to 330 or so, but not at 370. I guess I'll have to settle with Rivals.

Wait, wut? I was just making a general statement.
ETA:
Went to the recruiting board. Typical. Wasnt there some stank about those guys giving the bama bump when they were at rivals?

Devil's advocate. The talent evaluators on staff for colleges are better than the talent evaluators working for the recruiting sites. Especially at schools like Bama. So the sites trust the evaluation of the best HS talent scouts around. Is that so evil? It looks like they're pandering to the fanbases, in reality they're copying the professional scouts, trying to make their grades as accurate as possible.

He has a point. Also, when Bama shows serious interest in a kid, that kids recruitment always picks up and other schools go after him. If other schools will recruit a kid/find him/ start to show interest just because Bama did, I would hope that the recruiting services wouldn't have too much pride to not also start looking closer at him.

1-2 kids I could see. But not every one.

Obviously Bama knows how to scout talent. I don't see why people get upset with kids getting a bump when they're offered by Bama right now. If you get offered to play at Bama, you know you're a damn good football player so why does it matter?

The door is open for Auburn to get Brandon Harris IMO. Per this free interview by a radio station that works with the tOSU 247 site Brandon Harris did not grow up an LSU fan nor are his his family LSU fans. They are more into pro football. With Brandon's dad being the leader of his recruitment and no allegiance to LSU I believe he will want to find the best fit for Brandon. I believe that is Auburn. In the FWIW category, Brandon says he can throw 74 yards. The interview starts at the 27:00 mark if you want to listen to it. My advice is only listen to that interview. The rest of the show is

Per Rivals, Dante Sawyer plans to commit in August before his senior year and he will bring teammates with him to Auburn camp in July.
