Offers are going out pretty hard and fast. Just offered teammates CB Kalvarez Bessent and S Chris Williams from Camden County HS in Georgia.

What don't you get?

Just because a kid has an offer doesn't mean he's going to end up on the team. The coaching staff obviously sees something in him to offer him a preliminary offer, because let's face it, that's all these offers are at first. It's basically just a dating period with the coaching staff until it gets hot and heavy.

Now some of these offers are sleep with me on the first date offers, but many aren't.

Why do people get bothered by an offer? Do people realize how many offers are made throughout the recruiting year? Come people let's not find something to always be on the rag about, I am positive this coaching staff knows what they are doing.

Early rankings mean nothing to me. They are the recruiting national championships of recruiting. Mean nothing and are no indication of where recruits will end up ranked or success

Let me just say how refreshing it is to have a coach that can articulate like Gus. He is very engaged with the fans and is VERY quick to give credit to his assistants. You can tell he really is enjoying being AU head coach. It is also refreshing that he avoids blaming any of the previous staff for last season. He is full of class.
Defense
He definitely understands the importance of a strong defense. He appeared to be more fired up about the defensive commits. He gave a lot of credit and recognition to CRG for bringing in Adams and Daniels. Gus lit up when talking about Carl Lawson. Very interesting tidbit is Toney is up to 245 pounds. He thinks Flowers and Toney will contribute immediately. He is fired up about the defensive backs brought into this class. I will be shocked if Big Ben and Adams do not contribute early.
Offensive
I think he is excited about the QB battle and it could be very interesting to see this develop. He said it is very unusual to sign 3 QB's and each will get a shot to start including Smith. Jeremy Johnson has the it factor, according to Gus, and is the future. He mentioned he thinks Barber is a top 3 back in the country and the only reason he was not ranked higher is due to injuries his Junior season. He gave a lot of credit to CDC with bringing in some very good WR's. Interesting tidbit Malzahn said Tony Stevens is 6'4 205 thinks he will be a big playmaker
Tonight reaffirmed that I think Gus was the top choice and the perfect fit for Auburn. Good days ahead.

This from a poster who went to hear Gustav speak. If I am not allowed to post this in here let me know and I will remove it when I get back in country in 60 days.

Not on the rag (today) at all.

I understand many offers are made, but you don't normally see alot of QB's offered like other spots. This guy isn't a top level talent at QB (IMO), so I was just wondering.

Anyway, it looks like he is being offered as an ATH, which I didn't think about at the time.

I am very interested to see a QB that Gus gets to work with for more than one year...

Has he been able to do that in his college coaching career yet?
