And I'm pretty sure it won't be AU but we are talking about Craig so anything is possible. A big thing to watch kiddos is Clemsux/Morris. Garner is still in Zo Carter's ear as well.

Big thing to watch about Clemson is what? If Morris leaves?

Garner is still in Lorenzo's ear but I doubt it amounts to much. LSU and Bama are after him and Carter has never seemed to be big on Auburn

Looking at who we have committed, if we land Evans to finish out this class, I'd be very happy. We seemed to have really addressed needs. Next year I hope we build some depth.

I'm starting to get a feeling that we won't get Evans. Based on the latest news it seems he doesn't want to stay in AU cause he's been there all his life. That's just MO.

I feel the opposite. He won't go to UCLA (distance and relative lack of success). And UGA has been falling behind. That leaves AU and Bama. Bama's class is getting full, plus with all of the family that has gone to AU, I just don't see him going to Bama. It would be a huge shock to me if he goes elsewhere.

Couple of five-star AU notes...
Was at the Under Armour practice today and they let the media talk to players in waves after practice, so guys were really all over the place and Roc Thomas/Tre Williams/Ronnie Clark and Rashaan Evans were all just hanging out around me.

I wasn't recording anything and won't write any of this in a story, but AU fans should feel very good about three of the four in the bunch.

Roc is as solid as it gets, he has even made up a fib or two to keep other schools away from talking to him at certain times this fall and even after the season with coaches traveling to see him.

Tre Williams is recruiting Rashaan Evans literally every single second to the point that Rashaan just plays along. Tre and Roc were playing a game with him where they'd say War Eagle and then another would and Roc would say 'hey media Evans just said War Eagle!' They mess with him all day long, and he played along, before joking about committing to the University of Maine. Those guys are all real close now-a-days.

Oh yea on the field, they all performed very well today, too. Studs.

that is an odd statement considering no one is really worried about 3 of the 4 anyway, it is the fourth that we want to come along with them.

He was implying that AU fans should feel good about Evans. Clark is the odd one out

I hope you are right. I'm really excited about this class. Really addressed the needs. We needed an elite defensive recruiting class.

UnderArmour AA Notes from ESPN

quote:

Chris Weinke was impressed with his group of QBs during the first practice. LSU commit Brandon Harris (Bossier City, La./Parkway), Penn State commit Michael O’Connor (Bradenton, Fla./IMG) and Auburn commit Sean White (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School) all made nice throws during the course of the practice.

..... Sean White did a heck of a job making some throws in some tight spots.”

quote:

Defensively, Team Highlight linebackers coach LaVar Arrington already has a good feeling about his players, which he thinks are a special group.

“I know they’re good when I remember their names, and I remember all my guy’s names,” he said. “They have nicknames. They were balling so hard I nicknamed them. You have Jacob Pugh, so I call him J.P., Kain Daub is K.D. and Tre’ [Williams] is a nickname in itself.

“Then Rashaan [Evans], I grew up being called Shad, so he’s Shad.”

If LaVar Arrington is calling Rashaan Evans his own nickname, that seems like some pretty damn good praise

Roc Thomas and Rashaan Evans both qualified for the finals of the American Family Insurance Skill Challenge in the RB/LB division

Bessent and Tre Williams together

Bessent again

Rashaan Evans in drills with the tagline "Explosive Athlete"

Tre Williams carrying the ball in drills

Tre Williams and Rashaan Evans

SWhite in throwing drills

Right now IMO, it's Evans, A. Williams and one of Smith/Prestwood. Now if Thornton and Pettway are not going to make the cut, look for a JUCO-RB whose name we will remember as well as another DE from GA. Not calling anything just options I believe the staff are considering.
