Exactly what it is. He's looking for a school that he can qualify at right now.

I wonder how close his grades are. I know we have lower admission standards than UF, but they aren't too much lower.

@ZachAbolverdi: LB James Hearns is no longer part of #Gators class. He told me D.J. Durkin called him and said #UF can't take him because of his grades.

We probably have the same standards for football players.

According to Auburn Rivals, Garner visited Carl today at Milton HS. Carl Lawson Sr. described the meeting as part of the process.

Part of the process? Is that a good or bad thing?

I'd say it's just a thing. Part of the process of building a relationship.

I'm not sure how close he is but if we could get these borderline kids in school like Hearns & Griffin then I'd be ecstatic

From 247, Courtesy of Volnation
quote:

"It went well. They had a good conversation," Carl Lawson Sr. said. "We're just trying to get to know each other and we're both putting a lot of effort into it. It definitely is going well. We're getting to know him and learn about him and he's getting to know us. "Both sides are getting a feel for each other." -247

Lawson Sr. stated they had officially visited Clemson and Tennessee with Tennessee standing out the most. He described the new facilities as "mind-boggling". Stated a final decision will come shortly after visit to Auburn and before Signing Day as they, "don't want to put anybody in a rough position."

I will be pretty pissed if UT steals Lawson. It makes zero sense. They are going through the same fricking thing as Auburn with a new coaching staff. Such bullshite.

It would suck but I wouldn't be pissed. He and his family have handled the recruiting process as well as anyone I can remember. They aren't bullshitting around with coaches and are just looking to find the place Lawson feels most comfortable. If that's UT then I wish him luck with no hard feelings, but I really want him.

I'm of the opinion that the Feburary 1 official visits will either make or break our entire recruiting class

Oh, and according to Lawson insider Uzzi, Carl secretly decommited from Auburn a month ago sooo . . . yeah. I feel bad for this guy if Lawson signs with Auburn because Volnation is going to hunt him down and show no mercy for giving them false hope

It definitely looks that way to me (a non-insider).

Yep. I guess that's why we have ESPN going to cover our recruiting that day. Its going to be pretty crazy since we have a lot of spots open. Hopefully, we have a good day.

So I figure since he isn't at AU yet it belongs here, any indication of a fire behind the "Dyer to AU" talk?

There was talk when Gus was first hired but I'm not aware of anything but rumors

Seems like a lot of Draft eligible underclassman were in Mobile this week, specifically guys like Lattimore and Mathieu who have questions mark but Dyers name has not mentioned and he would definently need to be selling himself to teams every chance he got

I would take him at Auburn as a non-scholarship player on a -0- tolerance policy. Would show how serious he was about getting his life together
