it's definitely a possibility... similar posting styles, and this dude starts posting the day after and just jumps right in.

I'll try to smoke him out......

Peyton Manning and the Broncos are choke artists.

I'm not worried about that. We instantly lose credibility with current recruits (and possibly future recruits) having this guy on the recruiting trail while simultaneously trying to get out of his contract. It is just poor form all the way around.

Agree

Him telling guys like Green why they should come to AU, all while he plans to leave looks bad.

I hope this ends up being another false rumor, but it does have alot of steam.

Is exactly what I was getting at.

They had better be telling the recruits the truth

Maybe I did have a slight meltdown yesterday but I don't like when douchebag moves are made just like anyone else does. It's all good today though.

And as for the Broncos. Frick them and the Jets and Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez and Peyton Manning and John Elway. They ruined Tebow's career.

Am I still filling TT's role correctly?

I don't see this as that big a deal in the short team, and no one knows how good a RB/ST coach RB would've been in the long term.

We aren't getting green, regardless... and we were on the outside looking in for everyone else -- fortson, bryant, barber, ford, etc... all those guys are committed to other programs and the odds are probably against signing any of them.

It's not like we had runningbacks knocking the doors down to work with rich bisiacca (or whatever).

When he is telling recruits to come to AU, he is representing the University. He definitely causes the program to lose credibility with any recruit he is pitching.

I would prefer he stay, but losing a RB coach isn't a big deal. Having a guy recruiting while he is trying to get out of his contract just looks bad though.

Remains to be seen if we are on the outside for Ford. He grew up an Auburn fan and I expect the coaches to secure a Feb 1 OV with him by early next week. ON the RB contract part. Nobody knows if he even signed it yet.

Would our fearless leader, Jay Jacobs have signed an NFL coach without a buyout clause?

I'm starting to question the whole Coach Rich to the Cowboys tweet. I'd like to see some confirmation other than a tweet.

I'm not sure how common or prohibitive buy out clauses are in lower level assistant coach contracts. I'm sure there is something, but probably not something that will deter the Cowboys.

ETA: Here is the article from the Dallas paper. It doesn't reveal the source of the info, but the guy reports it without any real disclaimers. LINK

What JGT has said about it is on the last 2 pages. It's real.

If this does go down with Bisiacca, I want to get younger... we've already got four coaches we are over the age of 50, and another who's approaching 50... Experience is good, but we need some youth/energy in order to relate in recruiting.

just my opinion.

The likely scenario is Horton moves to RBs and Scott Fountain moves out of administration to TEs/ST.

I'd wait until after NSD and see who I could snatch up... coaches will be more likely to move around (we picked up thigpen from UNC post-NSD).

The WR coach at Arky State (casey wood IIRC), who was a GA here under malzahn, wouldn't be a bad choice either, IMO.

According to Farrell w/ Rivals, Green is favoring Michigan, Tunsil Georgia, Adams Clemson and Robinson Texas. His best guesses are: Lawson to Tennessee, Ramsey to Florida, Foster to Auburn, Thomas to Miami, Vanderdoes to UCLA and Bell to Alabama. This can all change with some of these guys having official visits left.

Also from Rivals, Jonathan Walton will have an official visit to Auburn this weekend.
quote:

"I want to see the campus, the players, just get to see the environment," Walton said. "I have a good vibe from the coaches, I just want to build on that. I've met a number of the coaches, I feel comfortable with them."

Gus and Craig visited with Walton on Monday. While South Carolina, Ole Miss, Miss. State and Minnesota have also visted this week. At 6-foot-1, 228-pounds he's being recruited to play linebacker. Walton claims no favorites, only saying South Carolina, Tennessee and Auburn make up his top three. He's now listed as a 5.7 3 star on rivals up from a 5.4 2 star
