Trey Johnson should've been a must get for Ellis.

Although I agree with you, I am not counting on a good signing class. We all knew we would lose these guys with the firing of the previous staff. Hell, I believe we would have lost some just because we were such a shite show last year even had the old staff stayed. Not trying to be a negatiger at all I just have low expectations for the 2013 class.

btw Trey Johnson was wavering some even before the change. Hard for a new staff to try and hold him.

They tried. After Chizik and company got canned he decided to just cut Auburn and start his recruitment again. Then he committed to Ohio State and shut his recruitment down.

And it's hardly like losing any recruit could be a surprise after a complete staff changeover.
I've been saying this since the last staff was fired. Still doesn't change the fact that we're missing on must gets that were once committed. Our linebackers have been pathetic since 2011.

Trey Johnson was a loss before the 2012 season even started.

Can't lay that one at Ellis's feet.

Yeah, he was pretty much gone when Ted Roof was shown the door. He just needed a legit excuse to get out of town. At least he's going to Ohio State and not Florida.

Not blaming him. And like another poster said, he might have told us to screw off.

Yeah, the good news is that we don't need but a handful of competent linebackers to play good defense if we can get some improvement in the interior.

I don't see how any recruit that seriously wanted to play for Auburn with Chizik coaching wouldn't want to play for our new staff. Especially on defense. It just shows too many recruits care more about playing for someone they are buddies with than playing for good coaches.

More like it shows most players commit to coaches they have solid relationships with. It's nearly impossible to build those in a short period of time. It sucks, but it is what it is. New coaching staffs generally don't have top 10 recruiting classes their first year for a reason.

The only positive point to go with our sucking it up recruiting LBs one more year is we really only need 2 solid starting LBs rather than 3 with the spur position. Hopefully some of our younger guys can develop quickly. I sure as hell don't want to see Holland on the field as a starter anymore.

Do we really have a legit shot at tarean folston?
To early to tell. He is supposed to get to Auburn in the morning. Also on the Jason Smith question, the new staff is giving him a shot at QB first. Lastly Tony Conner cancelled his OV to Auburn

Don't care, didn't want. Only a 4 star on rivals. I only want to give scholarships to 5 star plays only.

hahhahaha

They aren't getting either.

Foster will be a UGA lean after their visit and then will sign with Auburn after we get him in town for the last visit.

I've been told that NSD should be a very exciting one for us.
