They did look to the JUCO ranks and we had the #1 JUCO offensive lineman solidly committed in Will Latu. Latu had grade problems getting signed in December then had grade problems graduating in May. Staff didn't want to take a chance on a JUCO player who wouldn't want to be on campus till August. We weren't left with options after that and that was not a result of the staff but Latu being an idiot.
With redshirts our spread of OLineman won't be ideal but it isn't horrible.

Just quoted the rumors that a recruit has said he thinks that Liner is Bama bound and recruiting Kamara to Bama with him. The other rumor was that Lawson favors Ole Miss and could decommit soon.
Auburn is tossing around the idea to offer Alexander's brother and that if Clemson, A&M or us offer the brother we would probably be the leader.

Doesnt make sense to me for him to drop us and go with Ole Miss unless he loves the coaches there. And the Vols are pretty much in the same position as us(new coaching wise) so that makes no sense. Ole Miss is not some power program either they barely won 6 games this year.

Sorry for the Triple post but Tray Matthews said on UGA rivals that Auburn is not an option for Reuben. My take is Tray is trolling or has not talked to Reuben in a couple weeks.

Anyone with the tiniest amount of common sense will realize the DC and/or HC are the ones responsible for picking out who they want on defense. Not the fricking defensive line coach.
Look at it this way. Garner has always been a 4-3 guy during his time at UGA. TG runs the 3-4. Who do you think is responsible for picking out the personal needed to run the 3-4?
And Grantham is a fricking idiot. Lawson would be a machine as the jack in the 3-4.
Moreover, I don't see why UGA fans are so in love with him. His defenses have shown more bad than good over the past 3 years.

I used to like 247Sports, but they're rumor-based "reporting" is ridiculous. They're including a ton of hearsay with their recruiting notes which people have to pay for. BM is a good reporter, but he and PM are a bad combination when it comes to constantly wanting to take any rumor they hear and pass it along as gospel. That's terrible.
I understand these pay sites are competing against each other and everybody wants today's news yesterday, but rumors aren't news. At least wait until you can confirm something with the kid or a family member. If these guys flip, they flip. But stuff like this looks terrible if both of them sign with Auburn.
There's a reason I don't subscribe to pay sites anymore.

i don't get the hype either... they have 8 or 9 NFLers on their 2012 defense and didn't live up to the potential... I think it comes back to just how bad they were under Martinez.

Gents, we are going to lose some of our top recruits. Nothing we can do about that except move forward. Why do you think Gus is planting himself at the JUCO level? To stem the loss and allow the new staff to catch up next year. It is disappointing no doubt, but inevitable nonetheless. No need to fret, grind and gnash our teeth over their departure.

I have felt Dee has been headed to Bama even if there was no staff change. The kid is enamored with gumpville. I wish him luck at a place where many of the Bama fans from here claimed he was a thug and why he wasn't welcome in Tuscaloosa...
