Yeah, we lined up a receiver short on the last drive. Newton ran on the field.

Speaking of Tate, some of the old HABOTN crew are still discussing things on his abandoned website from years ago. Good for them

Trooper is a huge piece of shite, and not very smart. He asked me for five grand. I gave him Utah State's last scrimmage in 2011/12?

Yep and it wasn't the first time. Corn was in charge of the rotation, positions, etc. So when you have have issues and have a replacement in the wings...you can pull the trigger if needed. Now, not knowing if there is an off field issue but we all saw the on the field issues with mainly the TEs running and lining up properly. Was there bad throws? Yep, but I didn't play QB at that level where Bobo and Harsin have so they know the issues there. I am sure they also know the other issues with the Offense like the O-line but that won't change until we get new talent in here but the WRs probably have issues that weren't addressed and maybe Harsin thinks they can be fixed. Was Corn a bad hire? Maybe but maybe he got bad info from some "sauces"...either way we will see how the new guy does within the week and over the next couple...I don't buy the SEC vs Boise Boys as Corn wasn't SEC. So we will see what happens but have to give Harsin some time as it is his show.

Oof. As someone who caught their way all through 6 years and up, yes, yes they do. There is a lot more technique involved than just catching a ball with your glove.

Eh, with all due respect look around the league and even in the nfl at who coaches positions. There’s tons of guys that never played or certainly not the position, there’s tons of guys that coach one position and then move around. There’s also tons of players that aren’t great coaches.

Coaches aren’t all perfect. Some know schemes, some know the position, and some know recruiting.

Some are great at everything some not at any.

Putting a staff together is all about the right combination of coaches and their abilities usually.

But the reality is that’s why there are camps and all kinds of other outside training these days. Not every qb coach is a guru, that’s why Qbs have private coaches and camps for example. That doesn’t make them a bad coach.

Corn is a young guy, a local guy. He played the position. Reality is he was brought in to be the young recruiter and also position coach. Wrs haven’t been good and neither has recruiting. I’m not sure why this is a surprise. I hate the idea a guy is a bad coach or leader because he makes one or two bad not great hires out of 20 or 30. Also this doesn’t mean Corn sucks, it’s the SEC and it just means he may still be young and need some more experience.

I hate to say it this way, but it is what it is. Harsin has a very strong Saban vibe about him.

Anyone condemning Harsin over this firing or anything else up to this point is just some overreacting teenage girls.

It’s his program to run and is correcting an error.

These same people would be calling for his head if he left the WR coach in place. Sorry, Sammy Coates lashing out with very little insight into the matter.

Passing judgement so early in his tenure is ludicrous, but by all means girls, carry on.

Exactly what we need if we want to build for the future. Harsin showed me Saturday, that he has the big, ol balls that Gus never had. A player ain't getting it done, a 5*, legacy, bench his arse and put in the hungry 3*. Ain't getting it done as a staff member? GONE! Boys, we have a hard nosed coach, and that's exactly what we need.

I like Harsin, don’t like most of his staff hires but he will live and die by them.

We hired a guy with no ties to the area. He had to get who he could. Let's see how he does on the recruiting trail. I have a feeling, his persona will resonate with the kind of player we need, but not exactly the kind we want.
