All this talk about the draft, but a lot depends on who the coach and new staff is.

So far interviewed:

Raheem Morris

On deck: 49ers DC Robert Saleh
Chiefs OC: Eric Bienimy

That ship had better of sailed. Talk about losing what's left of a fanbase.

What a bunch of meh....

We're gonna dick this up and end up with a worse coach than DQ. Un-freaking-believable

Saints VP/assistant GM for pro personnel Terry Fontenot is scheduled to interview for the Lions GM job on Tuesday and the Falcons GM job on Wednesday, per sources.

I expect CUM name to get tossed out. Don't want but do expect to hear it.

Apparently the Jags have a strong interest in Meyer, and he won’t be cheap.

Hiring Fontenot would give the Saints an extra draft pick or two. He should not be considered for that reason.

No thanks. He's an offensive DQ.

So what? If you can make your team better while hurting your arch rival in the process, do it. The Saints have been pretty damn good in the draft the last decade and I'm sure Fontenot has had a lot to do w/it.

This is a bad take. Especially for you.

Apparently McKay is saying we won’t “pigeonhole” ourselves to an offensive or defensive minded coach again. A mistake he made with Petrino.

Blank: “If they get so immersed in one side or the other side...That takes away from their opportunity to be a head coach for both sides and special teams as well.”

Sounds like people in Houston think Rick Smith will be Atlanta's next GM. His draft record is outstanding. We're going to need a cap wizard for the next few years.

I also saw a report that said Colts director of college scouting Morocco Brown is expected to interview. Indianapolis has absolutely crushed the draft over the last few years. I wouldn't mind this one bit.

Blank says that they place high value on those who have competed against the Falcons and scouted them heavily. This makes me think Fontenot is our top GM candidate.

Interesting. VADawg will lose his mind if its Fontenot.

I prefer Rick Smith, also.

Is there any reason we haven't interviewed Brian Daboll? I think he would be a great hire.

I don't hate Bienemy as much as others do... in fact I'd say he'd be my "choice" hire if we're still talking Robert Saleh (like), Brian Daboll (like), Joe Brady (really like, but, young) and Dan Mullen (gimmie a break). He's been a stud RB in college, good in the NFL, has worked his way up the ranks and has an outstanding reputation and glowing remarks from Mahomes and Alex Smith.

So he doesn't call plays - so what? Nagy didn't call plays and he took Mitchel Trubisky (TRUBISKY!!!) to the playoffs twice.

I would feel better if we got a package deal on their QB coach to be the OC. Defensive coordinator, there's a lot of great guys out there. Need someone with a background in complex defensive schemes (secondary). Our vanilla shite we ran with DQ was awful.

As for GM, I vote for Smith. I also think the guy from the Saints would be an excellent hire. I'm sure he knows us well, and unlike half of this delusional fanbase, won't blow up the offense just because we can't stop anyone on defense.

Nah, I wouldn't lose my mind. I just don't like the idea of giving the Saints extra draft picks when they've drafted as well as anyone in the league over the last few years.

Fair enough.

If he's the best guy for the job, who cares if he costs a draft pick?

I agree on Smith, I think he'll be the GM when all is said and done but I won't be shocked if it's Fontenot.

Disagree on Bienemy. No thanks. Nothing anyone can say to me will convince me on him otherwise.

Arthur Smith, the Titans OC is my choice. Especially after hearing Arthur today say he doesn't want a rebuild.
