Luke shouldn't have been pitching in that situation but Martin strained his labia or something on his first warm up pitch.

Julio added to the roster to replace Martin.

I guess Martin's OBGYN said he couldn't pitch.

Ohhh go frick yourself, Martinez. The Cardinals looked like a little league team the way they celebrated during the game, but no one on the Braves seemed to care. Act like a grown man and don't get so offended over little shite.

If you don't like it, don't let him make you look like a guy throwing BP.

Snitker I don't care that the team loves him. I don't care that he got manager of the year last year. Luke Jackson should not be pitching in any clutch situation for the rest of his career. Shane Greene, who has been a damn good setup man since his first two shaky save opportunities should not be pitching in the DAMN SIXTH INNING. Why not let Jackson pitch that inning for frick's sake. Keuchel who we brought in for THIS EXACT MOMENT should not be yanked after one run ball in the FIFTH. Even when you pull him, why on earth do you not let Fried continue to pitch!? If you're worried about too many innings, you got a former starter turned reliever over there in Newcomb who is FAR FAR BETTER THAN LUKE frickING JACKSON.

Snitker has brought this team as far as he can and kudos to him for that but now we need a legitimate general in there who is set on winning championships to take this team deep into October. The buddy buddy "pat on the shoulder" Mark Richt style "rings collect dust" is not a championship attitude.

Change my mind. You can't.

Should've been on the roster to begin with in place of Jackson, regardless of the fact that they've used Julio as a starter this season. He's just less of a liability than Jackson.

Well, you know, things just played out a little differently than we expected, you know. It was not really good but the guys, you know, they played really hard. I thought Luke made some really good pitches. He might have one or two he would do different, you know, next time. But the other team is a really good team. It's a long season, it's a long series, the guys will keep grinding because that's what we do in baseball. I really really like this team, you know, the guys in the locker room are just really great.

I am 100% convinced Luke Jackson has blackmail material on Snitker or they're sleeping with each other. There are zero other reasons for him to keep pitching.

I couldn't believe he lifted Fried after only 1 perfect IP with 2 Ks.

This! I thought that they were just going to try and have Fried finish the game if he could.

So Martinez gives up a 455 ft HR to Acuna then gets so rattled that he gives up a 460 ft HR to Freeman.

I really want our top 4 in the line up to get another crack at Martinez. He might be mentally done for the way Brad Lidge got PTSD from that bomb Albert Pujols hit off him in the 2005 NLCS.

Agreed. Most important since Glavine in Game 6 in ‘95 WS? There have certainly been some huge games and performances since that beautiful one hitter, but I agree with you because:

ATL has performed terribly in the playoffs since 2001
If ATL drops game 2 today, they are toast and without a doubt lose a 1-0 or 2-0 type game on Sunday
The win sets us up nicely to have our best regular season starter to win on Sunday and pick up some momentum and get that 2001 monkey off our back
