... and he should be extra motivated given:
1) it's a 1 year deal so he needs to ball out to get more $$ on a new contract
2) He's back in GA
3) Lot to prove to the NFC/NFL after not being used at all last year (maybe mad?!)

Falcons have done well this offseason.

(1) Fowler was the best pickup. Fits a desperate need
(2) Hayden Hurst is every bit as good as Hooper. Really excited to see him get to work with Matt Ryan, who has always elevated the play of TEs in his time here
(3) As a 1-year, low-risk flyer, Gurley is perfect. I'm a big fan of what he still looked like last year when he was on the field.

Going into the draft my wishlist looks like:

(1) CB - Trade up for Okudah, or draft Trayvon Diggs. Maybe Kristian Fulton County Lockup
(2) RB - Cam Akers in the 3rd round is a dream
(3) DL - If Javon Kinlaw is there... you have to take the guy.
(4) WR - I like Russell Gauge but I'd like the option of having someone to step-up whenever Julio/Ridley inevitably miss a game
(5) LB - K'lavon Chaisson.

Like what I'm seeing this offseason. I will be interested to see if the Falcons perhaps draft a safety like Grant Delpit in R1, and move KeKe Neal to LB. Mark Barron was a terror after moving from SS to LB, and think it would be a great situation to have Neal and DeBo at LB, and have Delpit and Rico at safety.

Here's how I would address it:

1st round- Kinlaw, Chaisson, or trade down and target Kenneth Murray or Patrick Queen

2nd round- Damon Arnette or Bryce Hall (I'm high on both of them, especially Hall. Hall would be in first round consideration if he didn't get hurt last season)

3rd round- Chase Claypool, Tyler Biadasz, or best front seven player available

4th-7th rounds- best player available, one of them needs to be a RB (maybe AJ Dillon)

I've thought for a few years now that Neal might be best served as a 4-3 outside linebacker. I disagree with needing Delpit as Damontae Kazee is a terrific ball hawking safety.

I have a unhealthy man crush on Kinlaw. I really think he is going to be a beast. Him next to Jarrett with Davidson and Senat as depth could potentially be really really special.

I knew Kinlaw was going to be a beast when he made Kindley and Hill his prison bitches during the UGA/SC game last season. He absolutely wore them out.

I'm hoping for an early run on QBs this year but with Bridgewater, Rivers and Brady going to Carolina, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay, that seems unlikely. Cincinnati, Miami, and the Chargers will probably take one. Redskins are a wild card because of the regime change. Jags should but they need to win now to keep their jobs so I think they'll go with an instant impact player.

He also blew right past Isaiah Wilson on the pick six and caused Fromm to hurry the pass.

For a change they actually filled holes with real answers. seems like we have gone into the draft with 10 holes to fill (TWSS). this year we have addressed 3 starting positions already and can be very focused on how to fill the rest in the draft.

Kristian Fulton is a great corner to draft after okudah. Could be a steal if we draft him

Fulton at #16 overall would be a reach, not a steal.

You just know Quinn is going to fall in love with some freakish athlete who isn't good at football like AJ Terrell.

Looks good. Put me in the camp that wants a pass rusher drafted with our first pick.

Why does it feel like everything happening now is “fantasy” teams? Seems like a different world.

this movement is unreal. I think the NFL just wants people to talk about it since its the only sports news happening.

Agreed.

A dream (and plausible) Thomas Dimitroff draft looks like Kinlaw at #16 and a trade-up into the back of the first for Kristian Fulton.

You're going to see a large run on backs in the second round. I wouldn't waste a first on any of these RBs in the first 25 picks.

As far as skill goes, Swift, Akers, and Dobbins all sit in the same class.

That said - if Clyde-Edwards Heilare fell to us in the 3rd, I'd die of happiness.

So what are we thinking with the draft now that the first wave of free agency is over? I don't think any other FA moves will be made that'll impact draft strategy.

My draft strategy is still the same as I posted before.

1st round- Kinlaw is my #1 choice and there isn't a close second. If he isn't there, take Chaisson. If they're both gone, trade down and take Kenneth Murray or Patrick Queen

2nd round- Damon Arnette or Bryce Hall

3rd round- Chase Claypool or best lineman available on either side of the ball. I only mentioned Claypool because he's a freak of nature and we need some WR depth and should start thinking about life after Julio.

4th-7th rounds: Best player available
