Falcons sending a 2nd and 5th to the Ravens for Hayden Hurst and a 4th. There's the replacement for Hooper.

What the frick? That's this years 2nd and 5th for a TE?
Jesus, just let the Coronavirus end this season if that's the trade we made.

I like the trade but that seems steep for a TE. Guess it’s cheaper than paying Hooper

I don't hate it. We were going to spend a 2nd or 3rd on a TE regardless. So we basically used a 2nd for a TE (still on his rookie deal), picked up a 4th and lost a 5th.

ETA: The traded pick is originally New England's. Basically, the Falcons traded Sanu for Hurst.

Yeah. I really got no problem with the trade.

A starter was a top tier need, and we just got a former 1st round pick, who played well in limited time last year, and has three cheap years left on his deal.

When you add in the money he is owed, a second for Hurst, a weak crop of TEs, and swapping a 5th for a 4th is a good deal.

We still have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 2 4ths to get guys at DE, DT, RB, and CB.

I'm good with this. Hoop just got an $11 million a year contract. We don't know if Hooper is a stud, or is pretty good, and benefited from Julio/Calvin.

His replacement makes $3.4 million over 2, and is pretty good. He'll also benefit from Julio/Calvin.

That's my concern with spending MULTIPLE draft picks on a TE. We also need:

-DE
-CB
-RB
-OL
-Depth at literally every position

Spending significantly money on this piece of shite who quit on his team would be the last straw for Dimitroff in my book. I think he should have been fired years ago but this would be his all time stupid move.

Reading the Minnesota reaction has me starting to dig Hayden Hurst.

we spent 1 draft pick on the TE and upgraded a 2nd draft pick. Not sure what is so hard to understand about it. We were going to likely draft a TE in the first 4 rounds anyways. We just happened to use a pick on a guy who still has a couple of years left and will be more polished. That first year with Hooper was rough, so I'm glad to have a more established guy (on the cheap) take over.

Fowler is a better fit than Floyd. Floyd seems to be a 3-4 OLB only.

Trufant officially designated a post June 1 cut. Team frees up about $11M by doing this.
