good signing. looks like we'll have a mostly solidified pen top to bottom heading into the year. wonder who will step up as the ninth inning man.

Speaking of bullpen, Braves just signed Will Smith to a 3 year $39M deal

No surprise there. He's about to get paid. Unfortunately, I'm starting to think it'll be by someone else.

At least if Donaldson signs with another team we'd get back a draft pick that we lost for signing Smith.

I hate it. He was one of my favorite player's on the team this past season. A lot of murmurs up here about the Nats looking his way if Rendon goes elsewhere.

I'd hate to lose Donaldson to Washington.

Anyone else concerned that we are overspending on relievers? I know its good to see the massive whole being addressed, but the position has been extremely finicky in recent years, and I would hate to think we passed on a major difference maker like Grandal, Mous or Donaldson to pay for a setup man who flamed out

why should I be concerned when we have no clue how much money the FO has to work with?

The one AA move I have not like is the trade for malencon. He’d not reliable and is due 14 million. Would much rather have that 14 million to spend elsewhere

Spending like this on relievers tells me the front office has the green light to ramp up the spending and go for it

Braves sign D'Arnaud, who I like. Probably the 2nd best catcher available after grendal

And a slight overpay. Starting off as spenders. Hope this continues.

i think they definitely overpaid just a little, but what I've seen is that since he was the 2nd best option behind Grandal, and with a weak crop of catchers below, they had to overpay to get him. Much better than rolling with AJax as #2. It appears that they'll definitely end the Flowers regime after this year and have d'Arnaud available as the vet catcher to pair up with a rookie in 2021. Good plan IMO

Yeah I don't care that they overpaid. I think it's a solid move.

I think it's a great sign, we have came out in FA swinging. I think this bodes well for the SP market to come as it seems the office is a little more inclined to spend than maybe we would have thought.

anyone else think Donaldson is a Brave next year? He’s an AA guy and It’s kinda of a hometown feel for him you could argue being an Auburn guy.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him paid.
