And I just realized we open the season with a 3 game stretch in Philly

Our fans are getting pretty annoying. I’m all for spending money, but money on the right players.

I agree. I don't care about Harper, other than we're going to face him several times a year for the next decade, but AA missing on Realmulto is chapping my arse a bit. The Phillies got him for a top prospect, a shitty catcher, and a minor league pitcher who hasn't broken out of Single A in 4 years.

He must love Austin Riley. If Riley is the third baseman of the future, it becomes a much harder decision. Braves don’t have a lot of position player depth. Plus, JT is a FA in a couple of years and will require a huge financial commitment.

I hope Riley can transition to a corner outfield spot just to get his bat in the lineup instead of Dukakis

Wilson didn't get out of the first today. Gave up homers to the first two batters of the game.

Minter pulled in the middle of an at bat. Sounded like an injury on radio.

ETA: Shoulder tightness

Riley-top 100 prospect
Waters-top 100 prospect
Pache-top 100 prospect
Contreras-top 100 prospect on most places

Jenista-2018 draft. Already in ML camp. Went through 3 levels in half a season. Could possibly be a top 100 prospect by the end of the year
CJ Alexander-2018 draft. Already in ML camp. Went through 3 levels in half a season. More question marks, but has tremendous upside if he even half way figures things out.

Fangraphs doesnt do a top 100 list. They do their list based on how many players slot in at a 50 future value or higher. This year it was 132.

These are the teams with at least 4 players on that top 132

San Diego-6
Tampa-6
Atlanta-4
Cincinnati-4
LA Dodgers-4
Pittsburgh-4
Ny Mets-4
Cleveland-4

Here are the rankings of the players for each team

San Diego(3, 24, 59, 116, 124, 126)
Tampa(2, 26, 46, 54, 70, 111)
Atlanta(19, 33, 49, 55)
Cincinnati(7,12, 75, 95)
LA Dodgers(15, 23, 80, 117)
Pittsburgh(20, 56, 63, 83)
NY Mets(48, 52, 68, 92)
Cleveland(65, 103, 110, 113)

So Tampa has 4 in the top 54. Atlanta has 4 in the top 55. Pittsburgh would be next with 4 in the top 83.

So as you can see, the Braves have just as many top prospect position players that almost anyone in the majors.

Why aren’t Braves spring training games of tv? Seems like other teams have lots more spring games televised.

Duvall hit two bombs today. Hoping that's a good sign.

The Braves are 15 days away from the real thing. Split squad today at home and on the road in spring training:

As we approach the start of the season... does anyone happen to remember that time Acuña wouldn’t stop hitting home runs? That was fun.

Yeah, that's not over. I have little doubt that we'll throw at Urena this year when the opportunity arises. I'm still pissed that Gausman didn't give Realmuto some chin music in the next inning.

The Braves have outrighted left-hander Sam Freeman, per a club announcement. He has been assigned to Triple-A but will have the right instead to elect free agency

And added right handed softball pitcher Josh Tomlin. He went 2-5 with a 6.14 ERA last year.

Hopefully this doesn't mean Folty and Gaus are hurt more than they're saying.

But this dude didn't even make it through spring with the Brewers.

But hey, the team made over 400 million profit last season, that's the most important thing here.

Liberty Media cares about one thing and it's not the product on the field. They are hoping the braves will remain competitive so they can bank big money profits without spending. Our current roster is actually spending less than we spent last year after several front office officials sold everyone a load of shite and said we would have resources to improve the roster and even talked about our roster deficiencies. One of the big one was needing a corner outfielder preferably with pop like we were hoping we got in Duvall but now we are possibly cutting him because he's awful and we did nothing to address that issue. We also still have a pretty weak bullpen and we added what? We did add a 3b that has loads of potential of working in our favor but it wasn't even a huge position of need. We had Camargo last year and he did fine.....all year.

Meanwhile, our division is trying to outspend Boston and the Yankees over there spending like goons. Hoping the youth plays out of their minds otherwise we could end up buried below the actual spending teams trying to win.
